Lance 850 truck bed

I have a 2015 Lance 850 that I purchased for my truck with an 8' bed. The truck has been sold.
Will the 2015 Lance 850 fit on a 6 1/2' bed?

The Lance 850 is said to be made for short or long bed trucks..It's 8.6 feet long in the bed so it will stick out that much past your bed length...I sold an 8.6 Lance to a guy with a shortbed dodge and he still loves it and has know issues on how it handles..He leaves the tailgate on and down...
