Hi Guys, got my rig and not a bad deal. It has the microwave and a solar panel and reg and looks to be in ok shape. May need a little tlc but I'm good for that.

I guess the down side of slide-ins is no generator and no apparent place for one. Thought about getting something fabricated out of the tow receiver but I may pick up a little bumper tow toy hauler so that's probably not a good idea.

I'm just wondering about boondocking. Can I run the micro if I add another solar charger or is that like the air conditioner and must have a gen to use?

I need to learn more about electrical. My weak point for sure. I will have to be able to calculate the amp hours I think it is for each device and then add them up. This is very murky water for me. I guess I'll just get it with hands on eh? Thanks, Morgan

You can't run a micro directly off a solar panel. They put out DC for charging the battery.

You can run a micro off a 1500W or bigger inverter. That will need 300-400Ah of batteries to feed it, hard to fit in a TC. That inverter will be sucking 120+ amps while the micro is running, that is why you need the big battery bank.

I did it with my 5th wheel, but I just couldn't fit those batteries in my Lance 845.

Add a front mount receiver for the genny. Many people, including myself do this.

Congrats on your TC!!
