Where is a good place to look for used mdt ? Is there a good place to find information such as blue book values and just general information? I am looking for a bigger truck to pull my toyhauler than the dually. I think it will give me a greater margin of safety and just and a better towing experience.

try dixie horse and mule trader, they normally have 30 to 40 to choice from, the only reason I shy away from the HDT world is the high mileage on the motors, can you say WOW at 600 to 750 thousand miles

A few years ago I was looking to replace my F350 Dually IDI with a powerstroke. Was using craigslist. Not finding what I wanted. Typed in F550 in search and up came the holy grail. F550 with Pick up bed. It is a MDT. Engine and Trans same as the F350 but rear end is a Dana 135 front disc 14.5 in and rears 15.5 in.
!9.5 in tires. It's a beast.
If you have a bucket of cash a newer F450 6.7 is rated to tow in the area of 33K lbs. A beast.
There are also 650's out there with pick up beds just biger than I wanted to go.

Two words you need to know about MDT: air ride. Nothin' like it.

Do you have a link? Google provides some entertaining results, but I'm sure that's not what you're talking about lol.

A hdt is out of the question.

1) I don't want a truck that big. I still have to drive it when I get where I am going. I haven't found a smart car that will fit a family of 5
2) a truck of that size is not necessary for what I am hauling
3) i haven't seen one in a crew cab. I want my kids to be able to see America out of a window as we travel.

My Ram 5500 is a crew cab 4wd for much the same reasons...

You want it licensed non-commercial.. unless a 'dog trialer' is commercial use.

HDT is the way to go, twelve years and counting with ours. We are ready to leave the full-timing lifestyle so ours is for sale. Private message me for more information.

It's an auto-shift. Just need the clutch starting out and stopping. Then all automatic.

The MD trucks don't offer a whole lot more than your current truck- they will brake better but power is underwhelming in my opinion.

If you are seriously considering this route I would look for a class 8 with the rear axle removed and licensed an RV.

A class 8 will offer the performance, safety, and comfort you are looking for!
