For those that have have a MDT and use it as there means to travel around when you get where you going, how well does that work? I am looking at going from a dually to a MDT. I will have to use it for transportation wherever we go. I just want to make sure it is not going to be a pain to manuver. The dually is bad enough to try to find parking sometimes.

We have a 1998 Volvo 610 semi conversion that has an 183" wheelbase. With the 55* wheel cut it turns tighter than any regular 3500 series pickup. What we can't do is go thru drive throughs or park up front at wally world.

Whatever I may get will be used. Probably a pre emissions model. I am not looking at buying a new one because of the emissions and the cost:

Maneuvering isn't bad, what gets to be a pain is this 2008 Cummins won't tolerate slow city driving for too long before needing to be run on the freeway or towing to burn the diesel particulate off.

That may be only for that particular year however.

MDT is same width as a dually pickup
MDT wheelbase is similar to longbed pickup truck
MDT turning radius is shorter then most longbed pickup trucks

Other then sitting higher they are just as easy to maneuver as a dually pickup truck

And they can tow alot more easier with more comfort
Is it time for your medication or mine?

I thought this was an interesting way around the problem.
