NCHauler, you missed the point: All three manufacturers have medium duty power trains and it is not exclusive to your choice. It would be like me pointing out my wonderful nose and acting like no one else has one.

Do you think Freightliner would consider the GM or Ford engine?

Cummins/Aisin compete in the real world Medium Duty market.

Actually I think it is the other way around. Ford would not offer to Frightliner because they would be competition in the medium duty and heavy duty market for Ford. Also, Cummins or Aisin does not manufacture trucks, so they don't have the luxury of only making engines or transmission for their own trucks like GM and Ford. I am giving you the benefit of the doubt here in believing you are not that illogical in actually believing what you stated here, and that you are just stating it just so you feel like what you have is better in some way.

Like I said earlier, I would get off this high horse you are on and stop touting this "Cummins/Aisin are medium duty". A Ford guy can now say they their Powerstroke/Torqshift are heavy duty since they are now offered in actual Class 7 heavy duty trucks and your Cummins/Aisin isn't. Then both you and Fish would get ya'lls noses up in the air verbally pissing on each others engine choice and nobody wants to hear that.

The next time I walk into the machine shop with a 6.7 head and they simply say "junk" before they even greet me. I'll just laugh and think of RV.net and you.

Can't leave us hanging like that. Which 6.7 head? Left or right? ๐Ÿ˜‰

What is so wierd about a compay that builds for other manufacturers actually sells to other manufacturers. I have yet to see a Cummings or Aisin brand vehicle.

My point was they are used in OTHER Medium Duty vehicles so they have to stand up to Medium Duty requirements.

You obviously don't know know me well. I am not brand loyal and will choose the the tool that best fits the current job. I drive a Ram now and previous drove a Ford, but it does not mean I will choose either one next time I buy another truck. I will choose the best truck for my needs at that time.

I enjoy an informed discussion between my peers, but don't attach emotion to it. It is very easy for things to go sideways when you look at posts with your heart instead of your head.

I only spoke of a poster who was telling Chevy?GM and Ram owners when they had a wreck, their feet and legs would be so caught in metal that they'd have to be cut out of their terrible trucks....nothing more...nothing less I took it has morbid and crass.

"MY choice"...What's that mean? Which "fan boy do you proclaim me to be ?? 35 years with Chevy's and just 6 with Ram?? I don't get your nose illustration, but I'm pretty stupid....you should know that by now...I wasn't even going to post on this silly thread, but when I saw the post I addressed, couldn't help myself....if you can't put up with my stupidity any longer, please do yourself a favor and block this poor fool, cause I ain't got a clue...I'm one of very few who will admit this about himself...I'm nowhere near a know-it-all.....All the arguing over inanimate objects that I also get caught up in...You help me see the light...Got enough worries trying to recover from this stupid stroke...y'all have fun on rv.net...I see the light now...everyone is on here to only argue..BYE everyone

It seems like cummins builds engine for a ton of applications and GM and F build for their trucks only. Neither good or bad I feel.

DANG, I only missed having a medium duty engine, Cummins...(I think that's the way it's spelled?!), and missed having a medium duty Aisin tranny by JUST 1# more of GVWR...14,000 for my truck versus 14.001# for a medium duty nomenclature truck?....Ah, who cares, I know what my truck is rated to do and tow under all my weights towing a 20K TH..not bad for a light duty truck with a light duty engine and light duty tranny.....I used those terms for all those that look down their noses with distain on those who like to call their engine and transmission ....."medium duty"....so sorry for you to have to put up with such foolishness and ignorance from members on this forum:R
