First, I almost always camp close to home. Second, if the bugs are in new lumber being used in home construction they are everywhere by now anyway. That stuff is trucked all over the country. Third, I think (but am not completely certain) that board lumber is treated in some way. If it wasn't the bugs would everywhere by now.
Maybe someone here knows about this and can help us out.
If itโs โwhite woodโ, usually spruce, it has been kiln dried and that kills most organisms. No other treatment. The only treated lumber is usually pressure treated and you should not burn that as it is poisonous.

I bet they sell firewood at that campground and don't want anyone to cut into their profit.
