I changed them yesterday and I was really surprised how easy they came off. The top rear bolts I broke loose using two combination wrenches locked together and the others came right off with a week POS 1/2" impact that can't take my lug nuts off.
I've owned several 3/4 trucks over the years and there really is a reason they call these HDs.
All my other trucks had car like HD shocks. These are way more "HD". ๐

We drive a 2015 Chevy 2500HD 4x4 SB and are looking at shocks now at 48K miles. Should have done it sonner... We carry a 3000 LB truck camper and almost always carry the camper, not a trailer... very seldom drive empty -- got a car for around town.
SO, tell us 4600/5100 Bilstein's or Monroe Reflex and WHY one over the other in this application.
This should be interesting, what say you Cummins12V98

I recently installed the 5100's on a new to me 2001 RAM 2500 that has a 2" lift. Not a big fan of the lift and may be removing it. 5100's will be fine when I do.

I agree they are not my color pf choice. But as I have mentioned the silver n black 5100's are for stock and up to 2" lift. So that reason is out the window.;)

Thanks for all the comments. I ordered the Reflex shocks.
I took a trip to Oregon and down the coast last year, 2500 miles with my 4000+ lb camper and OE shocks - no big deal. ๐
I'm sure these will be an improvement over the OE's.
For me the extra cost for the bilsteins wasn't worth it.
Besides, I hate the color of them. ๐ LOL
