Discover how the power of water and other

geologic forces have shaped this unique

environment on the way to glimmering Avalanche

My sentiments exactly. As it comes to the wire for our departure I may not keep up with things here; Lots going on. Hot here in the Colorado foothills too and fires are burning. We were under a level 1 fire evac order (prepare to leave) but the grass and house fire was contained. Was one of the only times I was glad to know the rig was in the shop getting worked on because if you are outside when they go to level 2 then you can't get back in. All we need are the cat and the rig and we are ok! My uncle lost everything material in the Black Forest fire a couple of weeks ago! All this stuff strikes so close to home for so many people around here. Makes me reallร happy to have a truck and camper to call "home".

Looking forward to seeing you all in one of the most beautiful places on earth. Dave - seems like yesterday we were at Morman Lake. I could make a habit out of these things. ๐Ÿ™‚ glad I signed up for this baby right off the bat. I need it!

Day and a half till launch........ITS HOT!

in the 80s today then high 90s to close to 100 for a couple days for the spokane area.

....but its a dry heat right?

My car thermometer told me that it is 116 here in Phoenix. And, yes, is is a dry heat just like your oven.

103 here today..........the pool was nice though!

1 day till launch, the S&S is plugged in and the fridge is cold and loaded, along with everything else. Will go on Red in the morning and get staged on the side of the garage.......in the shade,(like that will do any good), may have to run the air tomorrow.

if anyone tries to get a hold of me I will be without cell/web coverage during the day time of july 6,7,8,9 and 10th. there is coverage at the rally campground (Verizon) but not once you get into glacier a couple miles. I will return any replies needed in the evenings.

all right! MountainKowboy, are you bringing the S&S on a final voyage?

We will be bringing the S&S..........as to if its her final "big" trip hasn't been determined yet. Been toying with the idea of replacing the roof with EPDM and repairing/upgrading what I find. Either way she is sound for this seasons needs. We will see..........I would like to keep the S&S in the stable and able to race, sometimes the TC is better for our needs, especially when doing our off-road stuff.

2 more on the list - all right! MountainKowboy, are you bringing the S&S on a final voyage? We may take the drive to Polebridge as well. Love that place. hadn't heard about the Aurora Fest....sounds cool. But the real gem is Kintla Lake....we may ride the dirt bike up to Polebridge and on to Kintla or I suppose potentially up the outside north fork road towards the border. There are a number of roads up there I'd like to check out including the road to a fire tower hike (not Huckleberry Peak but furthur north.) How am I suppose to go back to focusing on work now? Glad it's Friday.

that is such a cool part of glacier up there, very remote. that section along with many glacier section are my two favorite places in the park.

Ok, I'm in....you had me at muffins and beer.

The stars have aligned and I will back to my home state for a family gathering and Glacier will be a nice break.

In years past Polebridge used to have a music festival called Aurora Fest. I think things got a little wild and crazy up there though and they stopped doing it?
