So apparently Ford has some big news about their 6.7L Powerstroke Diesel they are going to announce at the Texas State Fair.

I'm betting it's more powa! They probably are hating the fact that the RAM equipped with the 6.7L Cummins has them whopped in the TQ number for the ads, and in the max towing number by a huge margin.

"Worth noting is that Ford just tweeted that it will have some kind of announcement about changes to the Super Duty's turbo-diesel 6.7-liter Power Stroke V-8 engine. Ford has been quiet about this one, which usually means there aren't many significant changes or there could be a huge surprise waiting for us at the fair. Last year we got some new luxury trim packages; maybe this year we'll get more towing capacity to better compete with Ram HD."

Apparently, Sept 26th is the day we will all find out.

X2, all of these diesel motors are well beyond the capabilities that any of the trucks there in have.....I guess it's good for bragging rights.

I think it is entertaining. 90+% of these trucks are used by weekend warriors who will carry a few 2x4 from the Depot. Many who actually use them to pull a trailer are nowhere near the load limits of these powerhouses. Too many little boys compensating for some other short comings in their life.

Didn't they already leak the info? The grille is going to be black, instead of chrome.

Maybe they will put bigger brakes on em and increase GVWR by 1K lbs :W like they did in 2014 MY.

Sounds like a hint to me from Pickuptrucks.com testing of the F450 and Ram 3500.

This is starting to sound like the 6.0 all over again, just dial it up boys and forget those heads, they'll be fine !!!!!

Well Mark Vanderbent's thread from last night didn't make the cut. We'll see how long this one goes.

The Ford guys give as good as they get.

Break open a cold one, laugh, and know that sooner or later you'll get your chance to give it back.

Oh, and trust me, I don't think the Cummins fanbois have any feelings of inadequacy. 😛

I love how all the "wish we were the#1 brand" detractors howl with laughter about near ancient history but fume when it's given back to them. It's OK though, one has to survive off of the public dole and one sales discount trucks in the #3 slot. 🙂

Funny I just checked Fords web-site and the f-150 has up to $9000 in incentives!!!
