Motor cycle on front receiver

Thinking about going back to two wheels. I usually tow my 91 Yj wrangler with my 01 dodge 2500 4x4 cummins with a six-pac camper. Truck handles the job well but I'm getting tired of dragging it along. Extra load on truck , more fuel , can't back up , ect ect. What I would like to do is carry a Rokon trail breaker on the front. Light bike , 200 pounds plus weight of carrier. According to my dodge manual this truck is rated for a 633 pound snow plow so I don't see how weight could be an issue. Anybody here carry a bike on the front of you're truck with a tc on it? Thanks Joe.

TO the OP if the smaller bikes arent enough power for you I have a Husqavarna 701 which is about the same weight as most of the 250 bikes but it has substantial amount of power. A little on the pricey side though.

This rack was fabricated by a welder friend, so capacity(liability) is unknown. I found those front hook receiver's replacements on EBay and had the cinch bolts added and that got us started. My thinking was 2 supports were better for a rack.

Travel Ram, I am very interested in your setup. What kind of rack is that and what is the capacity? I currently have a front hitch and rack but the capacity is 500lbs. I would love to take one of my heavier bikers (530 lbs)and I am looking for a hitch/carrier with a higher capacity.

From my personal experience you will need to watch your transmission temperature closely in the summer using your air conditioner.

Here's my Honda 250 Ram 3500/Lance set up . Has worked out super over the last 4yrs. Almost no wobble, as for night driving you do get reflection from truck light... but I'm old and don't drive at night:B


Room for ramp with 2 21/2 gal can strapped on top.


2 rack/frame supports and a bar attached to where the passenger peg would go, very solid.

There are motorcycles and motorcycles.
I did carry Honda Trail 50 on front of my motorhomes and having hanging bracket pretty high, I just lifted it there.
Don't think I would even try that with Harley.
My friend drives 800 lb behemoth and just to load it on trailer he needs 2 ramps.
I think with pickup visibility is main issue and too bad nobody makes small motorcycles with foldable handlebars anymore.
Those 40+ years old Hondas Trails keep good value as there is no replacement for them.

It is odd. All I see is a large blank area with a small grey circle with a horizontal line thru it.

I use this site to format pics posted here. You can't drag and drop directly from google photos. You must download a copy first and then drag and drop to the site. Then paste the link it provides in the message.
