Don't you just pay the insurance deductible regardless of how much it costs? Unless it's more than the value of the vehicle then it's a total.
My sarcasm must not have bled through. There was a vocal few that thought insurance rates would soar due to the increased repair costs. So yes, you would only pay the deductible but you would pay the higher costs via your premium.
