I have just finished installing a new Hengs conversion kit in the bathroom. I purchased the unit from"CW" and wasn't told about the one with the variable switch.
Actually they wanted to sell me the 400.buck fantastic one.
I figured for 80 bucks, it tn only clears the air in the loo.

Now I am looking for the variable switch. CW doesn't carry it, Hengs won't sell it to me and refers me to suppliers that want to sell me a whole new unit!
Oh, rants over now, longer than I thought. Any way this fan is great. Just saying.

$50 or less on eBay with free shipping.
I bought the single speed model and added a PWM and reversing switch for each of my two fans. Now I have full speed and direction control.

Most need to be spliced. No plug-in connectors.

Hey - thanks for posting this. On my list of upgrades! Have never really looked at my stock fan - do the wires have plugs, or do you have to splice? Says all you need is a phillips head for installation.

I had no fan at all in my bathroom vent. I spliced into a nearby light. I don't remember the wires having plugs, I think they had wire nuts. It's only 12v so you can use plugs/splices from an auto parts store. My vent trim, the only thing I had to remove, had square head screws. The square head drivers are also available at any auto parts store. Total installation time was about 45 minutes and that included snaking a wire to the light.

Experience without good judgment is worthless; good judgment without experience is still good judgment!

I installed the same fan. It's main purpose was to remove moisture while showering, so noise wasn't a concern. It is a little noisy, but I haven't compared it to Fantastic Fan. The plus side is it is very easy to install, it goes right in the existing vent. Oh, and it costs much less than FF. Had it 3 years and still works great.
