New store space

Hello guys,

I have a question about potential storage.

We have this front storage compartment. On the left side of this wall we have two bedside tables (without drawers) and the bed. Under the bed we have storage, but I think the space under the both tables is unused.
I thought to open part of the storage wall, to have additional storage for small stuff.
Any chance someone did it? Any potential issues? Suggestions?

Thanks!

Or open them up from the interior for shelves. Shoes on the bottom clothes on the upper shelf.

Yeah, it’s a good idea, but I am not sure how to finish it… How can I make it look nice? So it will be part of the design/color?

Or make a drawer/shelf with a door below. Lots of options.

Great idea, thank you.

I would explore from the storage side first. There may be electrical cables or other things involved.

In our camper, the space under the bedside “tables” are part of the pass through. Easy to figure out with a tape measure.

There are many areas in a TT that get closed off by the manufacturer that can be opened up for storage. Sounds like your idea would work. You can always put the paneling back if it doesn't work.

Most trailers I've had have had panels in various areas like under the bathroom sink that were stapled in. I've opened those up and have gained huge storage areas. I buy those little gold hinges and magnet closers so they can be opened and closed. Then drill a 3/4" hole in the door to open it, don't need knobs that way.
