Hello all! Finally got some pics of our new camper(1/26/13) and decided to upgrade the TV from an expedition to an excursion. Couldn't beat the price for the excursion, v-10
With 78000 miles $6900! Can't wait to start camping! Heading out last weekend of April!

Testing the lights and brakes

The kids are ready!

I am so happy we found a good deal for a 3/4 ton. I knew the expedition could do it as it pulled it home but now I don't have to worry about what we bring along. And the wife does not pack light..lol!

Thanks, memories are the main goal! Excursion is 4wd so far 3 trips and its tows great! Getting about 7.5 to 8 mpg. Not too bad considering everything is mountains up here..

You stole that Excursion. I assume its 2wd? I would imagine you hardly notice the camper behind it? Congratulations. Those kids are going to have memories for a lifetime and will probably do the same with their own kids some day as a result.

We were looking online today and came across a 2005 Excursion V10 Lariat with 60,000 miles asking 13,200. Depending on the year and trim these things go for a lot up here. Most of the ones that seem to go for 7,000-9,000 are V10 or 6.0's with 160+k miles on the clock.

You got yourself a pretty good deal!

AkJason, I like it so far but I just bought it yesterday so we will see. So far gas mileage seems about the same as our 1998 expedition . I'm sure it will tow better though.

How do you like your Excursion? My wife and I have been debating on "down grading" to something more affordable since we commute for work and pickup a dedicated tow vehicle. Around here V10 Excursions go for a little bit more, but much cheaper than a pickup. We figure with two dogs and planning for kids here in a little bit might be the way to go.

The price on the excursion does sound like a good deal. Might have to wait a couple of years before the kids drive it though.

Very nice! I bought the Summerland 3030BHG. We haven't picked it up yet, too cold to do anything here. Enjoy! Your children will have such a good time too.
