Something tells me we are going to see GM build a 3 row SUV based off the Colorado canyon platform. If this is true , I am so hoping for a duramax diesel option !!! That will make me happy even though I want a suburban duramax more. Hear rumors of this more and more.

I dunno. These vehicles are popular...among both the civilians and police.

I would be interested in a small SUV with a Diesel ((IF)) it had a fold flat rear floor like my blazer. My old blazer is long in the tooth and I have dumped more money into it then it's worth. I like the full frame and low range 4wd but the most important thing is the fold flat floor for the Collies.

What is it that "tells you" this?
2009 Silverado 3500HD Dually, D/A, CCLB 4x4 (bought new 8/30/09)
2018 Arctic Fox 992 with an Onan 2500i "quiet" model generator

Yes Bedlam, you are correct 🙂

I said my 06 is the last GENERATION, not the last year.

06-10 is exactly what you said - 4th generation with 3 valve 4.6 available, although only about 10-15 % were made such, the rest has the problematic 4.0 v6 with 5R55.
4.6 has its share of issues as well.

I thought the 4th Gen Explorer and Sport Trac were frame based through 2010 - They had a 4.6 liter V8 available.

I want one.
My 06 Explorer is the last generation of midsize SUV frame based with v8. 4Runner went v6 route, new Explorer is a station wagon really, Acadias - same thing.

I need v8 on the frame but smaller than Tahoe.

GM is already making an SUV based on the Colorado platform, they just don't sell it here. From what I have seen they don't plan on selling it in the US.

The third row can be rear facing to aid in access and fold into the load floor like a rumble seat. It was very common in large station wagons.

The trailblazer ext is a nice riding roomy suv. I think this will be a step above those. Kind of like a baby suburban and Tahoe. Cant get a v6 in those or a diesel so would attract a new crowd.

We have a Buick Rainier that is based on the 360 chassis(Trailblazer). Nice solid rig. Turns on a dime and gives you a nickle in change. DW loves it, and it's 5.3 V8 and AWD loves gas!
