New TT concern

Well our new Cougar 28 RLS is in & we have our PDI tomorrow. We went and checked it out tonite. The dealer left us a key so we could get in after hours & work. We're concerned about a squeak in the floor when we walked thru it. It's right in the center of the floor near the kitchen. The stabilizers weren't down but I thought the floor was one piece and it sounds like a joint squeaking. Will definitely bring this to their attention tomorrow. Any ideas what it may be? Will follow up post tomorrow after PDI. We love everything about the trailer but this. Thanks

We had the PDI today and noted the squeak in floor. Dealer said they would check it out on their end and we gave them a week to get back to us. Everything else is just great with it and we love the trailer. They promised us that they would take care of the issue and we have that in writing. Now we can't wait to personalize the cougar and GO CAMPING!! Will keep you posted on the squeak. Thanks for all the help

On one of the forums, a guy posted that he damaged his slide by sitting in it with in not extended.

Never heard that before and it doesn't make sense to me. Not saying it's not the case, but have never heard of it in 8 years on the forums. Did he say why?

Re the squeak....our ROO had one right in front of the kitchen sink. Very slight and we mostly ignored it, but from time to time DH would check it out like it was something brand new. I would for sure bring it to the attention of the dealer before you sign off. It's likely not a problem, but could be an annoyance. Ask them to get rid of it.

My salesman told me that you should never sit on the furniture on a slide out, when the slide out is closed up. Could the squeak be related to something that could have been bent on the slide out, or is it just in the middle of the floor?

My 5'er had squeak in basically same spot. It was the floor vent. Took out the screws in the vent and it went away. We keep a rug in front of the sink so it covers screwless vent. Works fine like that.

The squeak may be from something sitting on top of the floor like cabinets or from duct work in the floor. It doesn't mean that it is not a 1 piece floor

The cure us worse then the issue - dropping underbelly and trying to drive screws up through supports. Is the area linoleum or carpet? If carpet, a few well placed small headed spiral nails can help.

Can you walk or have you signed? Can they order another unit?

Mine has a squeak in the middle of the floor where the slide sits on it. It has never gotten worse (or better) but I may be just lucky.
