New window suggestions

The bay window over my bed on my '67 Scottie is completely busted! All new glass, and I'm assuming all new framing will be necessary. I'm positive this window has never been replaced before. Any suggestions on whether I should buy material to replace it myself, or if I should try to have a professional do it? I'm worried that it's got strange dimensions (16.5" X 44.5", frame included), and that it will be difficult either way to find the right material. But, hey, what do I know?

Depends on how much you want to spend and how handy you are. First, See if you can dissemble it yourself. If you can and ,If it were me, I would consider using Plexiglass to replace the glass using the original frame. Plexi is cheaper and easier to work with.

But, that is just me.

Start about here to see my similar if not exact style windows. The frame is easy to disassemble and the pane is 3/16". I expect maybe a glass shop can get you a correct size pane.

There is a vintage RV restorer in Bend that might be able to point you in the right direction for period parts.

I replaced my '71 Starcraft windows with Low E sliders (plastic frame) and a stationary panel in one location(same type). One of the better decisions I made on the trailer.

They also operate under the names of One Day Glass and Peninsula Glass. I think these are companies they absorbed over time, but not sure.

Anyways, we had them build all new frames and windows for our DP. They make / bend all of their own frames and make great screens for them. The make custom windows for boats and RVs in addition to standard glass work.
