As I sit here in Goshen IN waiting for Jayco to fix our fiver Jayco is putting me up for the week. The motel I'm in is where many RV haulers stay when they are laying over here. What I noticed today surprised me, most of the pickups used by the haulers are Ram pickups with a few GMCs and Chevys. Only a couple of Fords here tonight. (One of them being mine) Seems to me that ford has done a pretty good job of ruining their name in the RV hauler industry.

All the coffee drinkers that drive Fords are at the McDonalds because after the repair bills that's all they can afford.:S:)

I am not disputing your claim nor am I a die hard truck fanatic or read a lot about them. That being said, I seem to recall that there was a lot of lawsuits between International and Ford with Ford claiming that IH would not pay for warranties. IH countered that Ford insisted that the engine be built beyond what IH felt was good engineering. IH finally relented. That would seem to me that Ford was equally responsible. I am not saying any of this is fact.

Driving around town here in AZ I see far more Ford F150's (not towing). However, in RV parks in AZ and CA I see easily over 50% are Dodge 2500/3500.

GMs outnumber all other brands 7-0-0 at my house.

If my son's girlfriend is over it is 8-0-0.

If the in laws are here that number is 10-0-0.

When my wife's brother is here we make him park his Dodge Caravan across the street.

I was just In Colorado for a month and there was a lot more Fords in the campgrounds. The last 3 weeks here in Utah there has been more GM's. Half tons are few and far between in both states.

Not one single problem with my '08 6.4L, course it's deleted and tuned! Standing by for all the ford haters and delete/tune fear mongers to jump on me! I'm not a ford guy or blue koolaid drinker just a guy with a 6.4l. If I took the advise of people on this forum I would never sleep at night or drive my 6.4L anywhere! FWIW i'm drinking a martini right now so this might just be an adult beverage rant.

You could also look at it that the other brands are more fatiguing for the drivers, so they have to stop more often. It's easy to twist an observation into speculation.

Many people who deliver rv's for a living are retirees working on a very low profit margin. Most of the vehicles that they use in the business are purchased used to keep costs as low as possible, especially with the high cost of fuel. The Cummins engines are reliable powerplants, and when combined with the lower purchase price of the Dodge truck, is probably the reason more are seen at the manufacturers lots. If you ever see these couples delivering to dealers, stop and have a chat with them, you will find it quite interesting. The new Dodges are nice trucks. The Italians have done a very good job turning the company and products around.

All of this makes good conversation for the Ford haters but doesn't mean diddly squat. It's 1 parking lot. Ford is beating all comers in sales because buyers like Ford trucks better. Like it or not you just have to face the facts.
