We have been looking at the Open Range Journeryer 340flr. Love the floor plan. We have researched the Journeryer and like the way it's is built. We saw this trailer this weekend. Primetime LaCrosse 327res. We don't know anything about Primetime or the LaCrosee units.

Does anyone have any opinions on this unit compaired to the Journeryer?

Of all the slides I've ever owned, the cable system is by far the least complex. It's one of those things that is genius in it's simplicity. A lot of folks don't understand how it works and don't like it because they can't figure out how a cable can both push a slide out and pull a slide in.

We love our Open Range (see signature) and have used it a lot. Many miles of towing with insignificant problems. I did have a cabinet come loose (not off the wall but pulled away) and fixed it myself. I did not have to take it to dealer at all for warranty work (they have a two year warranty). Only thing I had done during warranty was they gave me a new propane regulator when the original would not switch between tanks. I don't plan to outlive my current Open Range but if I do I would definitely buy another one. There are a lot more 5ers than TTs but we chose the TT to avoid interior steps.

We have a 2015 Open Range 340 FLR. We have towed it about 6000 miles so far and stayed in it about 110 nights. We love the floor plan. Especially the living room with the kitchen island and the amount of storage in the 340 flr model.
We have had the typical new trailer problems but all easily resolved.
Go to the Open Range owner's forum and you will find a ton of info.
Would I buy again? YES.

I have lived in a Open Range 2013 Journeryer 337RLS for 3 years in a ski resort and have never been back to the dealer for any reason, a few minor things I fixed myself. Best RV I have ever owned. I am now trading it in on a Open range 2016 3X349RLS fifth wheel. The cable slide system works perfect.

Jayco bought OR over a year ago. I am not a fan of the cable slides and was not impressed when we toured the factory. That being said my dealer finds improvements since Jayco took over.

I recently traded my 4 month old Jayco for an Open Range. The quality really looks good but I haven't even spent the night in it yet or towed it anywhere but home so I can't provide any real world input.

They do get high reviews and I'm told the company really stands behind their products. Jayco recently purchased Open Range but the word is it will continue to operate as an autonomous manufacturer. At least for now.

Check out the Open Range forum (openrangowners.com) and see what they say. We have an Open Range 5er and LOVE LOVE LOVE it. Best rig we've ever owned. However, I'm seeing a lot of problems with the new Travel Trailers. Could be my imagination.....:)

I can't compare the 2 as I have no experience with the Open Range. We purchased a 2016 Lacrosse 328RES in June and are very satisfied with it. We've had it out 3 times for 10 nights and have not had a single problem with it so far.

We ordered our Lacrosse with the optional 50 amp service and dual ducted 15,000 BTU air conditioners. It is my opinion that the Lacrosse 327/328 really needs this second A/C especially if you are camping in the deep south during the summer months.

Again, we are very satisfied with our 328RES and really like the residential refrigerator which is the only difference between the 327RES and 328RES. We still do a lot of looking and have not found a TT that we like any better. If we had to buy another TT today, I'm sure we would buy another 328RES.

We have had a LaCrosse 329 for almost a year and are pretty happy with it. Build quality is good, things are fairly well thought out, and we have not had any real problems with ours. There are a few known problems with the LaCrosse lines, uncomfortable mattresses, showers are a little cramped, some have problems with wear on the underside of the kitchen slides (but there is a good warranty fix). If a tornado blew ours away today I would either buy another 329 or one of their Crusader 5th wheels.

Have the Lacrosse, don't know anything about the Open Range though. We've had no problems with our trailer, have had it since May 2013 and have made several trips out and about as well as lived in it exclusively for a year. I guess the only bad things I can say about it are 1. the bathroom is a little smallish. 2. the mattress that came with it really is bad and got replaced after a few months when all of the fill 'pooled' in the center from my wife's and my side of the bed. 3. we have the 4 door refrigerator and in the Texas heat without any shade on that side of the trailer you can see the temp gauge go up during the heat of the day. The longest trip so far was about 1600 miles round trip without any problem and is the first time I have noticed no wear on the tires after a long trip. The dual air conditioners and 50 amp service keeps up with the heat nicely.
