Ordered a new truck to haul TC today

2018 XLT F350 4x4 Crew Cab 8' Bed

Supposed to be here in 6-8 wks.

Going to add Torklift tiedowns.

Going to use the factory 3" hitch and fabricate an extension.

Got 5th wheel prep package and plan on using the factory installed bed plug.

Not going with adjustable Rancho 9000 shocks this time. I got them last time and they worked great on my first two srw trucks, but they were a huge improvement on our last drw truck.

No air bags this time, may try stable loads or go with Timbrens again this time.

Our 2006 F350 did a great job hauling our Lance. I can't believe we've had that truck 12 years.

Man that is one purty truck!

After years and years of driving stick, it was hard for me to break the left foot habit. I caught myself more than once stomping on a clutch peddle that just wasn’t there.

Now, I have the modern features of my car and truck confused.

One starts with a key and the other has a button. One unlocks the doors when I touch the handle, the other needs the fob.

Every once in a while in the early morning I get in my car that has a T-handle shifter and absent-mindedly slam it around in a way that sort of resembles putting my old ‘95 F350 manual transmission in reverse, then nearly drive through the garage wall in front of me. :E

It’s tough keeping up with all these new things!

You can get use to it. 😉
I had years when I was switching from 1600 lb sport car to 16-tons bus, who was a hog on weekly basis.
After couple of months you no longer think about it..
Now new truck live traffic - this is something very easy to get used too. When I go to older car, I want to drive my truck again.

My back pain went away with the first automatic that I drove for a week. Little did I know.

Finally got a photo. Man, this thing is as tall as a track hoe, turns like a school bus and my left foot is real bored.

Congrats on the new wheels Brad, nothing sweeter than that “New truck smell”, that red looks great to, it’s going to be a head turner for sure. We ordered ours a couple weeks ago, they told us 6 to 8 weeks too. Good to hear all the good reviews on the 6.7. Don’t get me started on how much trouble we had with the 6.4. Post lots of pics.
Happy Camping
Wes

Our 6.0 has never been in the shop. It's been a great truck. But it is 12 years old....

The new trucks are 10 light years ahead of the 6.0 generation. Congratulations!
