Been racking my brain between a Chevy 3/4 ton 6.6 gas or another 1500 5.3 with the NHT tow package but found out you can get the 1500 with the 3.0 Duramax this year with the NHT package. So we have a new refreshed 1500 RST Diesel,10 speed with the 9.5 3.73 rear end, heavy springs and shocks and a 12,900 lb tow capacity on order. It should be great towing 7,000 lbs.

What was the premium over MSRP? How long are they quoting for delivery?

Invoice! Dealer didn't know how long but ordered Monday and messaged Chevrolet Thursday and they said it's heading for production.

Invoice or MSRP?

Invoice is shocking - good for you if that's real. With way things are lately, many paying over MSRP, to get any discount is a steal. Invoice is unbelievable - who do you know?

It's real. 5th truck I'm buying from the same small dealer and he is giving me the same deal I have always gotten. Very happy

I know exactly what your saying. Been down that road and back. Have owned an 8.1,two 5.9 Cummins and a 06 Duramax along with good size trailers. Very content with 25-26 ft travel trailer these day. So easy with a smaller trailer,Gas stations, back in the sticks and just all around maneuvering.. At least that's my take and hoping to put some miles on to get out of this Az weather in the summers.

Where did you hear that? I believe that to be nonsense, it's only February.

I ordered a new 2022 GMC a little over a week ago. When I asked the sales man when it would be here he just laughed. I asked again, generally, a month, 4 months?
He just said "who knows."

Congrats Litephil!
And 3.73s! That thing will pull hard!
Do they even offer 3.73 anymore with the gas engines?

I'm not positive if still true, diesel and 6.2 gas were ea MSRP about $1000 option. So for a 7-10k trailer, a better option than a 2500 if you keep you payload need under 2000-2200 lbs max. With that said, I've had 3500 in the bed of my truck hauling gravel and a pallet of wall block, handle worst than a 2500. But put a 2nd pallet in a 2500, both are about the same!
I've pulled 8500 with no handling issues either. My max generally speaking for any truck is 2-2.5x RA capacity.

Towing two to two and a half times the weight of the “half ton” 1500 concerns me.
