Hello,

Here are some pictures of our new trailer that we have done a little bit of work getting it ready for this season.
I have just took out the old water pump to see if it was the reason why the water does not work on 12v. I tried this pump with direct 12v from the battery with nothing at all.....
Where and what should i be looking at to get a new little pump? It has a really small little tank so im not into spending alot of money on a massive pump.

Anyways here are some pictures of our trailer. Let me know what you think

I note in the pics that the lenses are missing on the rear marker lights. Would be smart to replace them and reseal to prevent water intrusion. Otherwise looks like you are off to a great summer of camping.
Enjoy!

Holly man thank you so much for the info on this! Im going to get into this today after work. Ill let you know how it goes this weekend.
Now next issue is the fridge need to get it going. I believe that someone on here mentioned turning the fridge upside down for a day to get the gas going again or something along these lines. when it is on it feels like its trying to cool because the lines seem cold but not cold enough to actually keep things fresh.

Hmm i couldnt find the exact one on that site but i think we are close. Im going to see what my local rv store will say. I wouldnt mind knowing how to play with the pressure switch to see if i can get it going? Surely they must adjust?

Does it look like one of these? Here is a schematic of the two main styles of PAR pumps.

If you have one of those two and the pump operates good but not with the pressure switch in the circuit, the pressure switch needs service or replacement. If you look at the top of the switch and it has some screws that hold down the top of the switch, it is serviceable.

This will be like rebuilding a carburetor so get a good clean work surface prepared with a rag under everything. Place all removed parts in an orderly line. Take the screws out slowly from the top case side. There is a spring/s inside and they will want to throw off the top. Be careful to keep the gasket in one piece. Remove the case top and spring, any retaining bits, and the wires with their contacts. You should be left with the case and a piston inside a bore. Gently pull the piston out and any relief springs and washers.
The next and primary part of business is cleaning everything up. The cylinder and bore should be cleaned with a weak acidic solution like vinegar or citric cleaner. Also the piston. Note the presence of any O-rings and replace if hard or misshapen. When you reassemble, use some mineral or vegetable oil in the bore and around the piston. I usually use some RTV silicone on gasket mating surfaces to insure water tightness. You can even test the switch by connecting your multimeter to the wires and depressing the piston (if the switch has an exterior rod).

The alternative to servicing the switch is to buy a new pump since all modern pumps have the pressure switch integral to the pump body.

What pump do you have?
Most modern pumps have the pressure sensing switch integral to the pump.

So i have figured out that the water pump works when it is connected to 12v directly and the pressure switch is not in the mix. Anything i should do to try get the pressure switch working?
Or should i just buy a new one

Sorry - can't advise you on the pump, but your camper is awesome! I like it - very retro.

I like the camper, it's really cool looking.
As far as the pump you can buy a pump from any RV dealer or camping world. Camping World pump

As far as use you just wire the pump up to 12 volts with a switch. when you get to your campsite you turn on the switch. the pump will run for a minute and pressurize all the water lines and then it will automatically turn off. When someone opens the faucet in the sink the pump will sense the drop in water pressure and turn back on again. When the faucet is closed the pump will turn off again.

If you're leaving camp you should turn off the switch in case a line bursts it won't pump the contents of the tank into the trailer without you around to hear it running.

As far as the destroyed fitting it could be one of a few things. If the fitting is above the tank it could be a gravity fill port to fill the tank with a garden hose.

If the fitting looks threaded (think garden hose thread) it is likely for a city water hookup that will provide pressurized water into the trailer without running the pump.

If the fitting is down low it is likely a drain for the tank when you are done camping.

You have done a lot of work to remodel a great little trailer. You have gone this far, why not just go to camping world and buy a water pump. Being conserative and living in your trailer in a primative manner just dosent make sense. Creature comforts like having running water at night to use the john crapper just makes sense to me. Just MHO.

Would i need to turn the switch on evertime i need water?
No, even the air-over-water system used the switch only to send power to the pump and the pump senses drop in pressure.
If you can post a picture of the pump and tank, it would help.

The exterior connection may have been a supply line for park hookup. This would have been an easy way to plumb the water supply without pressurizing the tank.

It sounds like you have an on-demand system and a pump replacement is the cure. A picture or identifying name/number will clear that up. Have you tried to turn the pump on?
