Looking for some ideas for carrying SUP or short Kayaks vertically on the rear of my truck camper. I do not want to put them on the roof. I have a rear deck that sticks out 18" behind the rear and the standard ladder. I have seen a few variations. Looking for lessons learned and materials used especially padding and securing systems.

Have you thought about inflatable kayaks? That's what we ended up with as we just couldn't see adding another rack or such. They work very well and are easy to store.

Which one did you get? Reviews on many say leaks happen, seams break. I need a recommendation before I pull the trigger cuz there are so many out there.

there was a discussion and photos of vertical rear mounted kayak racks for short kayaks on the facebook truck camping group a few weeks ago.

Trying to come up with suggestions to refine something like this. We do have one inflatable but we tend to move around a lot and inflating deflating thing is a bit of pain from my perspective. I would like to find a way to just throw them up lash them in and move to the next drop-in.

If part of the kayaks are in the wind it could create a bunch of drag.
