The antenna on this trailor has a cable coming thru the roof and goes to a plate with just a coax end to put your cable to TV

The only thing I can add is that on my 1993 TT the button for the antenna booster is a slider switch and not a push button. It is still on the wall plate and it has a 12 volt receptacle underneath it just like the newer ones. It activates a red light when it is turned on.

Duh.

Sure, Duh!
It did take one guy on here a week to find the other end. Do you have anything worthwhile to contribute?

Mine is hidden below and to the right of the pop up television. It took me a week to find it. The television is stored on a cabinet at the rear of the rig and you push it down into the cabinet for storage so it becomes hidden below the surface of the cabinet. I too was getting not so great reception until I found the amplifier and turned it on.

Look around/near where the television gets it's power. There will be a wall plate regardless. If it's amplified it will have the little round black button and a green light will illuminate when it is amplified. I also found if the amplifier was on it interfered with my satellite reception.

In the past, many were built without an amplifier. The OP still needs to check the antenna as outlined in my previous post. Someone may have replaced the antenna and he needs to know what is there. After checking, then a determination can be made as to whether a switch is needed.

All the TT's and MH's I've owned the 12 volt outlet and switch to amplify the antenna was in the overhead cabinet.

The switch is very small, and very hard to see inside the dark cabinet. When you switch it on. THEN a red light appears next to it. All RV antenna's are amplified you just have to turn it on.

I put one of the touch lights in that cabinet so I CAN see the darn switch to turn it on! :B

If you don't have a wall plate where you get the antennae connection from it is not too likely you have a boosted antennae.

From Winegard:

Question:
Have just acquired an RV with a Winegard batwing (Sensar) antenna that came supplied with it. I'm not sure if it has an amplifier in it, but reception is poor in some of the areas where we camp. How can I tell if my antenna is amplified or not?

Tech Tip:
To tell whether your antenna has an amplifier built into it, you will need to be able to get on the roof of the RV. If this is something that you can do safely and comfortably, then raise the antenna and find the โ€œWโ€ shaped hole in the bottom of the antenna housing. Look in this hole, you will find one of three things.1. Nothing or tiny little wire(s)2. A fairly large wire.3. A circuit board.

The first tells that you have a Non-amplified antenna. The other two are amplified.

Thor ultra lite tahoe 23 ft 2002 has little to do with the antenna button. What type antenna do you have? Do you have the wall plate with the antenna jack on it? That is usually where the power button is. Are you sure it is a powered antenna? Some are not.
