Price - Northern Lite

Hi - I am in the process of purchasing a new truck camper. I am trying to understand how much "discount" from MSRP you normally see on new Northern Lite camper's. I have found it a bit harder to tell on these TC's than other RV's I have purchased. I also recognize this is an usual time so I may not see the same discount as normal.

So bottom line my question is - what is a fair price off MSRP to pay for a Northern Lite truck camper? Pre-COVID and now?

Based on posts we've seen on several NL user forums lately, current availability is low and discounts limited. A year or so ago (we shopped nationwide), getting anything close to 10% off MSRP (NL MSRP, not dealer version and not including freight) was difficult, but doable. It might be worth a drive (from WY) to give Apache Campers in Portland a call. No sales tax, much lower freight charges (closer to factory), very competitive pricing, plus great customer support.

You don't say what model Northern Lite you are interested in. If you are buying for a long-bed, I suggest the 10-2 rather than the 9-6 because of the storage cabinets above the dinette, the pantry cabinet, and additional storage elsewhere too. Also, the kitchen flatware drawer is better located.

If you have not already looked at the PM I sent you about dealer prices, you might want to do that.

You are not going to find much if any discount on Northern Lites. Low production and always in high demand. However with that said I'm told that folks in the Eastern states have been happy with Truck Camper Wearhouse and out west folks have been happy with Apache Camping Centers.

Dealers only get a few every quarter and they are usually sold before they hit the lot.

Tough year to make that type of prediction.
One suggestion though, after deciding exactly which model you want, search for it specifically on both www.RVT.com and on www.rvtrader.com using the advanced search function. Chances are you will find dealers scattered all around with very different prices. Some checking with the dealers sites will give you an idea of their sales methods and a phone call will give you totals on how much they are planning to add for shipping, prep, documentation and any other fee they can dream up.
Finding the cheapest with those questions answered will likely give you an idea of what you can get your dealer down to, or at least what ballpark area.

I don't think you are going to have lot of choices those days.
We talk about economy change with friends and 1 couple decided to spend $620k on the house, even they concluded before the prices are going to nose-dive in next few months.
You have to consider 2 opposite factors
1-production on several markets drop, what would lead to price going sky-hi
2- with lack of income - lot of people are not going to have money to buy anything more than very basic needs.
Which one of those trends will prevail?
If you feel lucky, Las Vegas casinos are again and still open.
It might not be for long, though as Corona positive results in last month went up by 5-fold.
