RAM EV

Looks like RAM is full in on the EV movement. One thing interesting is RAM followed Fords design logic in that their EV truck looks similar to their ICE truck, unlike GM made their EV trucks looks totally different than their ICE trucks.

Cptnvideo,

Alas the condo is on the north west corner on the second floor of the building and there is a 6 story hotel to the west. So no solar possible really.

4 kwh per day - that's ironic, I just harvested 9.16 kwh from my solar yesterday. 🙂

Thanks for the information.

Goody that you wish to pollute the planet, while the oil companies make billions of dollars while being subsidized by the government.

Pollution is going to happen whether you drive an ev or not.

But the ev will produce less pollution in a cradle to the grave scenario.

And walking or taking a horse will produce less pollution than an EV, perhaps some should lead by example.

Manufacturing a vehicle to begin with no matter what the fuel source the vehicle uses produces more pollution on the front end than any amount of savings on the back end can make up by a longshot. How much pollution do you think is produced making steel, plastic, or glass? How about copper and aluminum? Lithium batteries? Lubricants? The paper, ink, and printing process for those brochures in the rack by the door at the dealership? The salespersons cheap Dockers slacks?

X2. Common sense is a dying trait, but if you get the warm and fuzzies thinking your saving the planet, so be it.

Regarding your "long shot", that's not what studies show on bev vs ice. The most recent information suggests the bev is about 30% better, cradle to the grave, with all costs included.

I get my warm fuzzies by deliberately not licensing my car about 1 week in every 3. That forces me to walk. I drive the car less than 50 miles per month. Of course--the RV is a fuel hog.

I've also reduced my electrical consumption to less than 4 kwh per day. (that's a swindle to some extent, as my heating, and hot water are rolled into the condo fees). It did cost me MORE than I'll ever save.

Will I buy an EV? No, because my 2013 Elantra is in good shape and has only 76,000 kilometres (47,224 miles) on it. I'm 75 so it makes no sense.

Thomas Jefferson was concerned about climate change. He actually tracked the temps for 50 years. Then as now, there was a lot of disagreement about it.

Think about where's this going. The next level crazies will be saying the worlds population is too large. Spent a week in Germany a couple years ago and this topic was being discussed while sipping on some brew.
