Sorry for the bad cell phone pic. Seen near Richmond Va was this classic Blazer Chalet. Looked to be in great shape. I know it's not a TC but what is it?

Any additional details to share on that? Was a GM-sponsored deal?
I used to own the one in the large photo, they're rare and I'm trying to document every one still in existence. Seen one? PM me with a location, contact info, and or photo.

Got sent to this thread via a Google Alerts thing I set up years ago. Been quite a while since I logged into this site.

I used to own Chalet #1747, and I am the current administrator of the blazerchalet.com web site, but nearly all of the content was put there by the prior site owner.

Chalets (and the GMC Jimmy Casa Grande) are more of what I'd term a mini-motorhome. GM and Chinook really didn't engineer these to be removable campers. They can be, but are weak in the front and tend to collapse forward without bracing to hold up the front.

The one in your road pic is not one I'm familiar with, so thanks for the photo! Looks like the camper unit has been repainted and possibly it is on a non-original Blazer. I try to track every one out there, and I can pretty much distinguish around 360 of the 1780 made, but keeping track of the owners and random sellers out there is like herding cats.

Years ago when I was in college working part time at an autoparts store there was a guy that had one of the original style Ford Broncos with a camper on it I think it was made by one of the pop up camper companies.....

We once owned one -- was a great little campers (I stress little). F/G body and yes, you can walk (stoop) thru from cab to camper. Has a canvas pop-up that is a bit of a pain to close.

We liked it, can go anywhere a truck can go. We finally sold it when the first kid came along (only two seats) and bought a van. It was a 1975, but we owned it around 1988 or so ... Memories! ๐Ÿ™‚

At the time we had a 10ft chassis mounted camper which of course had a lot more room than the chalet.

I always thought they made for a nice looking setup though.

Here's a website with lots of info.

Yep.
Fiberglass insert camper unit that took the place of the Blazer's hard top.

I dunno, It's mounted permanent, no jacks and you can enter from the cab. Maybe a TC/Class C/Tiger wannabe???
