Refrigerator fans and roof vents

Geeze....so aggravated. First all we have had a TC for about 5 years and finally got the refrigerator working great after 3 LONG years. We recently bought a tt and the refrigerator cools but not that good. It is hanging at 45-50 degrees. So my question is, would you have to pull fridge to put fans in back or could you do it from the top vent? The TC has 2 side vents but the TT has a lower side vent and a roof vent. I am loving my TC that everything works great and so many bugs with the TT. Literally venting tonight!

I thought the same thing too... But, in the end, I just did this to mine and didn't have to deal with a warranty issue and be weeks without my new trailer..

I installed it on the top side vent and so it blows out. Runs pretty much the whole time the fridge is on, but keeps it down to 35* even when it's 80*+ outside temps.

I do run mine on gas all the time, as it just seems to keep cooler and recover faster than on electric.

Again, I didn't care to deal with the dealer/manufacturer on this, as I knew what the solution was going to be and I just did it myself.. (same with the fridges system board, but again, I knew what the issue was and just got it form Amazon and installed myself and kept my trailer at home and did the swap in less than 30 minutes)

On my Coachmen, the assembler cut, but failed to remove, the rubber roof material from the top of the fridge vent, resulting in half of the vent area being blocked. Clearing that out resulted in my Norcold performing like a champ, 34 degrees in the fridge compartment after five hours running on 120V.

If this is a new trailer take it back to the dealer, a fridge that can't keep food below 40F is a health hazard and should absolutely be covered under warranty.

Expanding on what beemerphile1 suggests. I would look online for the refrigerators installation manual. It will contain very detailed specifications of the clearances necessary for the refrigerator. Here's a link to one manual to give you an example of the included details.

take a metal plate large enough to seal the chimney opening.

add twin 12 volt computer fans

add a thermostat

install
