Refrigerator = frustration

Okay...My husband and I were given a 1994 Mallard travel trailer. We have been trying to figure out the refrigerator. It is my understanding that the battery must be hot regardless of operating in electric or gas mode. Is this correct? If not...please tell me why the thing works on gas but not on electric.

Thanks

A charged 12v battery is required for mine to operate on gas.

your right there should be a good battery in the system, check fuses and breakers , patience ,,one step at a time.

My understanding: 12vdc (battery) is needed for the control circuitry in the fridge.
The cooling can work off gas or 120vac. That heats the ammonia.

The 120v heating element may be burned out? That could be why it only works on gas.
