RV Accident US 131 in Michigan

People, just because you can pull it doesn't mean you should. This is ridiculous to think that little Nissan is going to pull that trailer. No weight distribution, nothing.

Looks like that chevy pickup cut him off. Probably texting and throwing his cigarette butt out the window.

You have no idea what you're talking about. We have no idea of the circumstances behind this accident.

Could be if racing on a Lake. :B
Driving to a destination carrying all the hunting gear and food supplies for a party of seven with the trailer becoming a mixmaster isn't the best.;)
We got lucky, all the guns, deer stands, propane tanks, batteries, and food were intact except for a syrup bottle that spun itself onto the countertop and leaked into the paper cups. The auxilliary 12V battery spun off the floor and landed upside down into the sink. When we opened the door after the rollover it looked like a pile of rubbish, lol.
AFAIK, this same trailer is still in use.

We were going to our sons place for Christmas a few years back, highway reader board said there was an accident ahead. I let up on the throttle a bit next thing I see in the mirror, backend of the trailer about three feet to the left of center. I thought the Greyhound bus the was overtaking us was going to finish the job.

Trucks going straight, a little tap to the brake controller switch and the trailer gets back where it belongs.

Around the next bend five vehicles in the median, two cars and a pickup on their roofs, anther car and pickup buried in the windrow. The Greyhound passes me, when I look over he gives me a thumbs up. For the life of me I don't know why I was on that highway, I hate it and usually take the scenic route.

Sure was happy I had the Hensley Hitch that day.

I'm pretty sure that that's a Nissan Armada that is based on the Titan frame. It's a capable trailer pulling SUV. Also, there's no way to see what kind of hitch is being used.

Maybe the driver wasn't capable? Maybe he was cut off. Maybe a deer ran out in front and he over-steered?

Maybe you all are jumping to conclusions with not one shred of evidence to support it.

It's an internet forum..., what else are we supposed to do but jump to conclusions and judge others ๐Ÿ˜›

Possibly. However, the Armada is just over 17' in length. Using that for reference it would appear this trailer is 30' or more. Regardless of weight I don't think its a good idea to pull a 30'+ trailer with a 10' wheelbase vehicle.

A good guess would be that this trailer is a 2010 Keystone Outback. Looks like one of the longer ones. Weight maybe ok as the larger 260FL weighs about 6500lbs dry but thats without options or cargo. My issue would be the length if towing on a windy day or with passing semi's.

Y'all have got some excellent eyes, can't make out what the hitch looks like from the pic.

The other thing, y'all are making assessments and have no information. Perhaps that trailer is too heavy, and perhaps it isn't. There is no way to determine that and the pic doesn't provide it.

Lastly, as BIGGYNINER has pointed out, even one of the "almighty" 3/4 ton trucks can have "mishaps" happen.

Y'all are drawing conclusions based on supposition.

Happens every time someone posts these threads here. It is after all, the Internet. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Hope the owner and family fared OK........

Yep. You said exactly what I was thinking.

Folks, you really never know what could happen. I was once towing in pouring rain at about 45mph when my back wheels slid sideways I almost lost the trailer. It wasn't setup wrong, it wasn't an inadequate tow vehicle. Just circumstances that I wasn't expecting. Who would?

That's an Armada, not exactly a "little" Nissan.
