I got a magnetic aerial for my xm radio which can be put on the front of the truck hood in order to get reception when the camper is on the truck. would that help you?

Works intermittently when the TC is on the truck -- not very well.

We're thinking about installing an antenna in a different area (Like the one above)- but we also have MP3, so not a big issue. Radio works fine when TC off the truck, so it's a trade off ...

Since I also have an F350, do you have part numbers for the antenna and cable you used to hook it up?

It won't work if the antenna is on the roof. I installed another one near the wipers.

Thats a good question - My SAt ANT is right on the front of the truck roof and signals goes away when I go under a bridge. I bet it will drop out if the camper overhang blocks the signal path to the satellite.
