Saw something cool today!

This is the coolest thing I have seen in a long time.

While at the dealer today I was waiting on the forklift guy to bring my trailer around I noticed a new trailer in the shop with some strange things near the wheels. I had seen this setup before on the internet and specifically on youtube but never seen one in person. I was told that the easi mover that was on that trailer was the only one in the united states and the second one was on its way here for a customer in Chicago. Right now the one in the shop can only turn on hard surfaces because of the front caster just digs into the grass and dirt. They are having some bigger and wider front caster built so they can run it in the field. But I'll tell you that this thing is cool! I was quoted $3000.00 plus installation @ $115 and hour and the first one took 6 hours but the next will be faster.

As far as cost goes this is an individual matter. My next door neighbor has a parking pad next to his house that is accessable only from the alley. Trouble is the alley is just wide enough to drive down with the trailer. Using a similiar device, the Powercaster, he is able to drive up to the space and then push it in with the device. The Tahoe he uses to tow is much too long to be able to back into that spot.

Powercaster cost him around $1,000. Add shipping, tax, etc about $1,200.

Only option would be to park 10 miles away and pay $100/month for the spot.

So, this thing pays for itself in a year. The device mentioned would pay for itself in three years.

I would much rather have my trailer in the back yard than in a spot miles away.

I also kept my RV in the backyard and at 19' could only barely get it in with the car. Now that I have a 35 Class A, I bought a lake lot to keep it, but that's another story.

I agree the power caster makes more sense, unless there is no 110V! even with that you can get some long HD extension cords.

The trailer has dual 12 deep cycles on it. One battery specifically for the easi mover with a battery disconnect to shut it off. They plan to run this trailer all day long inside their booth space at an upcoming Rv show. They plan to switch out different batteries all day long. After that show Dave will have a better idea of how long it will last.

I dont think that every person can think of how tight some alley ways and backyards are... I personally know that this is not something I need but I sure can see the value in it for the guy from Chicago that will now be able to keep his trailer at his home and not paying the $$$ for off site storage.

Very cool. That would make it easier to hitch up the TT to the truck, too, eh?

Plus you have to crank it down by hand. Some people on here won't even crank their jacks down by hand.

A few comments. First of all i'm pretty sure that is not the only one in the US. Second how big a battery bank do you need to run it? And 3rd, i can do that faster with my truck. If it is on grass, dirt, gravel it will not work as mentioned. Seems like just another unecessary toy to have!
x2 my thoughts exactly. I don't have any problem backing in. Something like that is better designed for an RV dealer.

I've seen it on youtube before. I figure that when I need one of those, it is time to quit RVing. Besides, for the cost I can put most of a new engine in my truck.
