Selling RV for smaller one

A fellow RV'er has a Travel Trailer, 34'ft w/ 2 slides. They want to sell it, however not being Good Sam Members, couldn't really tell them what to do about this situation they have. Both smoked in the trailer. What kind of cleaners would remove the smoke stains and odor?
I thought of Simple Green, but it appears it needs more substantial cleaning. What do you suggest? I told them once the rig was cleaned not to smoke in the rig. This would also include airing the rig out, and shampooing the carpets, and doing the blinds if any. Also what product would work on the glass shower doors? A lot of hard water stains. Any help to pass on would be appreciated. Thanks!

That was thought. Often, people (even other smokers) connect the smell to "dirty". So minimizing the odor will go a long way to presenting a "clean" RV.

The owners will have to write that group off as part of the cost if smoking and do as good a cleaning job as they can; then sell it for what they can get for it.

It makes little sense to try try to hide the fact that smokers owned the TT if the potential buyer is concerned about it.

X2....a smoker might love it at the right price....my wife wouldn't come near it with a 10 foot pole. Mitigation is good though, febreeze is amazing, chemically designed to remove odors. "Ozium" is a product that advertises eliminating cig. smoke smell--can get it though Amazon. Also, the biggest bottle of vanilla extract poured into a small open bowls could help--course you have to like the smell of vanilla. Lars

As said some of it will always be there. Clean all hard surfaces with a mixture of bleach and water. Clean all wood surfaces with Murphys Oil Soap. Replace all cushions and the bed mattress. No one will want to consider sleeping on a mattress or sitting on cushions saturated with tobacco smoke. This even turns off some smokers.

The carpet? Cleaning will help, but you'll never get all the smoke smell out of it. I've looked at cars that were owned by heavy smokers, where the dealer tried to shampoo the daylights out of it. The mixture of cleaner and tobacco odors just made us sick. No way would I buy something like that.

Another good product for the shower doors is Kaboom.

Are they replacing it with a new(er) trailer? Suck up the low value on a trade. Too much work on this one to make it worthwhile.

You can decrease the smoke smell, but it will always be there to some extent.

The smoke will get into the insullation and behind the walls. People who smoke need to understand that there RV and Cars won't be worth as much when they go to sell it. That is the harsh reality.

Odoban @ Home Depot is supposedly good for smoke. I've used it, but not for smoke.

This.

Nothing will get the smoke smell out, short of replacing all the "soft" materials, plus priming and painting all the other surfaces. The ozone will help for a while but the first time that trailer gets hot, the smoke odor will re-appear.

The smoke has gotten into every pore of the rig, not only on the surface of upholstered chairs but thruout and behind the walls where cleaners dare not go.

They should clean it the best they can, but list it as a smoker's TT that has been cleaned. I can detect cigarette smoke a mile away, no matter how small the amount, and I get an almost instant nauseous headache when around it.

If you had to tell them to not smoke in the unit after it was cleaned, I'm guessing they are heavy smokers.
Like others said, don't waste a lot of time cleaning. I would advertise it as a smokers RV.
No matter how well it is cleaned, most people will still smell it.

Just put a Ozone machine in it to kill the smell.

I would just discount it heavily and not put a lot of work in it. I would disclose everything. There are always people looking for bargains.
