Shower Leak

So I have a leak at the shower drain, I think the p trap threading cracked. I think the factory didn't size everything properly and there is stress on the threaded p trap connection.

Would it be wise to have a plumber do the repair or take it to an rv repair shop.

I have a good shop to take it to, but this really is a plumbing issue and I think maybe a plumber can come up with a better long term fix.

Thoughts?

^^^ Exactly what happened to my 2005 Keystone.

I replaced the cracked P-trap with a rubber one from home depot.

I had to remove the shower surround to access it. The whole repair probably took 4 hours (taking my time).

Great DIY!

Almost all RV shower pans flex due to just what you have shown.

I have to raise my hand and say that I was responsible for the pan cracking around my RV shower drain.

I started using the shower to store items instead of putting them in the storage bays while I was on the road. The weight and bouncing and the pan flex from not being supported right cracked the drain area.:(

Mine started leaking last year and it was simply a loose fitting nut. Tightened it and no more leak.

If yours is standard size plumbing pipes and P trap you could probably replace it yourself if it is cracked.
