Am considering the purchase of this Shurflo pump silencing kit. Anyone use one and is it worth it?

Anywhere a pipe goes thru a wall (or next to a solid surface) try wrapping that pipe with the gray pipe insulation available at any hardware store. It's not the total fix but should help.

Per shurflo pump operating and installation sheet. make sure hose is at least 3/8 ID or 1/2 ID. 1/2 inch would be best. A lot of the hoses from Lowes and Home Depot are 1/4 inch ID and can cause cycling problems.

No nipples needed. Home a depot sells braided water lines with 1/2" swivel connectors on each end.
They are used for toilet supply lines.

Those shurflo kits look like about $15.00 worth of parts at depot. 2- 1/2 pvc nipples and 2- 1/2 by 1/2 white reinforced faucet hoses. If you go with the better supposedly stainless hoses it's probably $20.00

I also used 3 pieces of rubber fuel line about an inch and a half long with longer screws to act as long spacers for the pump mounts. Low tech but it helped.

x2. I was in there installing 1/2x 1/2 flexible hoses from the depot instead of the kit and figured I may as well put in a 2 stage filter set up and a pressure tank and while I'm at it plumb it so I can just suck the water out of my portable 6 gallon jug instead of lifting it up.

$120.00 worth of fittings, $60.00 worth of filters and $45.00 worth of pressure tank later and it's done. ๐Ÿ™‚ It is much quieter. Its quiet enough but not so quiet that I dont know if its running.

I used the kit when I installed a pressure tank. I used it since I was in there working on the water system and I needed some additional hoses, so I bought the kit. Between the pressure tank, the hoses and adding extra rubber between feet of the pump and where it was mounted, I now have a very quiet water system.

If you're going to be in there installing the hose kit, you should install the pressure tank since you'll have most of the fittings undone anyways.
