Went to the Six Pac Camper site today to review campers and found this posted on their web site. Is this Accurate or has there been an update. If you go to their sister company clicky it takes you to Four Wheel Pop-up Campers. Thank you for your input.

Production Update (10/01/2012):

Unfortunately Six-Pac Campers is NOT producing any truck campers at the moment. We are not exactly sure what date the new Six-Pac models will be available, but we will update this website ASAP as soon as we have any news for you. When new models start to be ready again, we will post updates, floor plans, prices, pictures, weights, etc.

Thank you for your patience.

But if you might be looking for a camper sooner, our sister company is building simple,

light weight, hard sided campers too. See details here ... “CLICK HERE

Truck Camper Magazine recently talked to Four Wheel factory folks (sister company of Six Pac) and were told that Six Pac would soon be back.

Thanks Simplgib,
Yes is it sad, heard Six Pac had a good record with good campers.
Same with S & S Campers. Although you can still order custome new campers through there factory, probably costly. We'll just have to wait and see.

This is what they were saying the month before that (09/07/2012):

Unfortunately Six-Pac Campers is NOT producing any truck campers at the moment. We are setting up the new production line to start building our truck campers with the new "all aluminum frame construction", but the process is taking longer than we had hoped for. We are not exactly sure what date the new Six-Pac models will be available, but we will update this website ASAP as soon as we have any news for you. When new models start to be ready again, we will post updates, floor plans, prices, pictures, weights, etc. Thank you for your patience as we gear up for a new line up of light weight truck campers.

Edit: Apparently they've been saying the above for several years. I found another thread on RV.Net that quoted basically the same thing from June of 2010.

Edit #2: Found this interview of Celeste Hanagan from early 2010. Celeste and her husband Tom owned (maybe still own?) Six-Pac and Four Wheel Campers. Six-Pac was in Riverside, CA, and Four Wheel in Woodland (near Sacramento). They moved Six-Pac's production facility to Woodland to share Four Wheel's production facility back then and, at the time of this interview, were working on the transition to aluminum frames for Six-Pac. Not sure what happened but apparently they haven't produced a Six-Pac camper since then. Sad.

I don't know much about Six-Pac's newer models but I have one that was built 26 years ago and is still going strong. Great layout and very comfortable.
