Stopped by the Ram dealer

I had trouble trying to do a build on a 2013 3500 dually on the internet on Sunday. So I stopped by the dealer to try it there.

When it came to adding a transmission I wanted the new aisin 6 speed quoted. So the sales guy tells me the old style is only available, that they stopped the aisin???? I told him I wasn't buying his answer. That is where we left it.

So what gives? Can one still order the 2013?

The Longhorn certainly is plush. I had a 2012, Laramie 2500 and now a Chevy 1500 LTZ. These trucks are so nice I worry about getting a speck of dirt on the interior. With that said, my next HD will be as bare bones as I can possibly get away with. I like cloth seats better than leather and I don't really use any of the feature's in the higher end models anyway. Now if only the manufacturer's would come back with a manual transmision on there gasser's I would be a happy camper.....:M

I will throw my 2 cents in. I drive a 2012 Laramie, my previous Ram was a Laramie. I looked hard at Longhorns and actually tried to buy one but the deals were not to my liking. Yes the leather in the Longhorn is nice but the front seats in my Laramie are just as nice and that is the only place I sit. The dogs sit in the back. Got tons of options on it the truck is really loaded up. The difference is the leather interior package and some items which as standard and options on the Laramie. Besides I like my chrome bumpers and step bars. Nuff said enjoy what you drive, cause tomorrow you may be wearing wings.

I respectfully disagree the leather in the Longhorn is of a much higher grade than the Laramie.

they ran out of that paint color because every 1500 ram in oregon is painted black gold pearl coat .
my understanding that white is the only current color choice for a 2013 dually 3500.
for $ 70,000 you expect choices ?
😉

Really???? The web site lets you build with that color. Yes that would be a bummer.

The Longhorn's Western theme may not be to everyone's taste, but I know I sure like it. Sitting in it is quite an experience. My only (minor) complaint is that I prefer the chrome bumper and I think all the Longhorn bumpers are painted.

If I was in spitting distance of owning the Longhorn over the Laramie there's no question I would spend the extra money for the Longhorn.

I really like what Ram has done with all of their interiors, even my ST is not too shabby.

Turn and earn scheme

I know my local town Dodge dealer shut down during the down turn, it is now just a Chevy dealer only. Next closest Dodge dealer was in Coeur d Alene at Tom Addis. He sold Fords and Dodge. Last year they also lost, or dropped the Dodge side of the dealership :M
Many Dodge dealership's were and still are upset at Dave Smith Motors. Having said that, they still don't have any 2013 3500's.

2001 we bought a 3500 chev for $400.00 more than Dave Smith wanted. exactly the same truck for the quotes. Neighbor said he save $5000.00 on his 3/4 ton the year before at Dave Smith and the reason I tried their best deal.

Have you called Dave Smith in Idaho for a quote? I saved $12-13$k on my early build 06' Mega versus buying local. I would've preferred local. That kind of savings was too much to pass on.

I was one of the lucky ones - Dave Smith's price was exactly what my local 3 dealers all quoted (ok, one took some brow-beating to get to that price, but he came down to it).

They already posted us full for the weekend. The plant went to the Union to force seven days a week in the two launch departments for the next three months. Per the contract they OKed it.

Well if we don't get on the stick we will run out of the new 8 speed transmissions and the new 9 speed delays have pushed the new Liberty launch back to late June. To say Sergio is mad an understatement, look to see more of the UMC boys and girls hitting the road. Very busy at the plant right now, a lot of area managers and up are playing coveryourbutt right now.

Don you don't have time to be posting on this forum :B Get back to the drawing board and make some of those hitch rails that will fit the new 2013 tow package holes. Really thoughtful of the Ram suits. WTF were they thinking of :H

Just buy the 68RFE and be done with it. It's an excellent tranny and you will be happy. IMO

It aint just the tranny! That is the only way to get the high output engine.
