Storing your "stinky slinky"

What do you all use to hold your dump hose(s) between uses? I've just been keeping it in the original cardboard box, lined with a garbage bag. But I'm wondering if something like a shallow Rubbermaid tote would work nicer. Being a TT, the storage area is under the bed and shared with other items.

Plastic tote with a snap lid works perfectly

That's what I've used for many years; blue rubbermade bin in the back of the truck. All sewer related stuff is in this bin.

Ok, so it's really just an ammo can but the bottom is lined with rubber to reduce wear and tear on the walls of the discharge hose. I rinse out the hose, stuff it in the box and snap the lid on. I just open up the lid when I get home and let it all dry out. How I place it in there keeps all of the liquids within the hose and nothing dribbling out. It's been working great for years. It handles the 20' section just fine but wouldn't work for anything longer.

I too have the 2- 5ft Rhino sections with caps, it stored nicely in the bumper and removed easily until our final outing last fall when some furry "friends" decided to pack some pine needles and acorns into the bumper as well. -needed extra effort to yank out the first one no problem, but needed to force the 2nd out with the hoe I always keep in the truck bed (garden variety folks, keep it G-rated)

Not wanting to deal with that again; I am currently using an empty Tidy Cat litter container with the built in lid.... works great and both fit snugly in there. Cost $0

Eventually I would like to do a similar PVC mod, but it's further down the honey-do list.

I got tired of having to roll it up and fit it in a tub container, and then the "juices" would leak out into the tub. I then tried to fit into the square bumper, but the rough edges poked holes in the sewer hose. So I bought a 4" PVC pipe and cut it to length, and secured it above the rear bumper with zip ties and bungee cords. I glued screw on cap mounts to each end. This system works perfect for me. I detach from the tank valve outlet and slide right into the PVC pipe - takes literally seconds and no fumbling or packing effort. I also drilled a few holes in the PVC pipe so it would drain. I've been using this system for close to 10 years and haven't had an issue yet.

I store my stinky slinky in a Sterlite tub and lid. It's large enough for my Rhino Flex hose, plus all the other stuff needed for dumping including fittings, elbows, and rubber gloves.

The tub is stored in the back of my pickup.

I use fence post zip tied to bumper. ends have caps, with giant pin clips made from white metal clotheshanger. My rhino hose fittings didn't fit in bumper. I have a gutter that I put hose in. Instead of cutting off just to fit, I cut gutter roughly in half. I slide the two sections one inside the other and use to support my hose when connected. I hooked a small length of chain on end, so I can hang from sewer connection. Since they slide in each other, I can adjust the length to distance to dump connection. brace with a couple of blocks

Mine is pretty much like this, fence post, rain gutter, dowels to create sections.

I mounted it with heavy zip-ties (UV Safe variety) and just added a couple more ties for the new season. I got mine as close as I could to where I'll be using it. I put drawer pull handles on the caps, drilled a couple of holes for ventilation/pressure equalization and use some small bungee cords to hole the caps in place.

Mine is divided into 3 sections. The curb side section has a spare 10' hose, the middle section has an expandable garden hose and nozzle to be used for cleaning up after dumping, and the street side has the primary 10' hose. Our bumper holds a 5' spare, since often when I need more than 10' the 5' is the perfect addition. Angle connectors and supports are in a dedicated bin.

I keep mine in a 5 gallon bucket with lid. I can fit 2 hoses in there and the fittings. The hoses coil up perfect in the bucket. And with the lid it can stand up or lay on its side. I also cap off the ends of the hoses.

These are great ideas, it's going to be a project for me soon. I currently store my hose in my generator compartment. I rinse it well when done and let it dry next to the generator.

Its not much of a project so don't put it off to long. I procrastinated about doing the fence post sewer hose mod for a few months and finally decided to get it done. Well I spent more time in Lowes getting the parts then I did putting it together and strapping it to the trailer. Took about 30 minutes start to finish.

A 8 foot 6" vinyl fence post cover fits under most trailers as is with no cutting. If you use the vinyl gutter as a slider inside the post cover then you will need to cut a couple feet off it. I used self tappers to secure the off side post cap cover and latches like downtheroad used on the access side. To secure the post cover to the trailer I used metal pipe strapping tape and big self tappers like ls1mike used.

I didn't do anything fancy to the vinyl gutter slider as I use it to support the sewer hose from the trailer drain to sewer connection or at least as far as 8 feet will get me. I drilled holes in one end of the gutter for a piece of rope that gets hung from the trailer drain then lay the sewer hose in the gutter. Cheap easy sewer hose support that doesn't take up any more storage room.

I was curious Mike, how does that PVC bike rack work out for you? I was considering building one.

Ha! You noticed it there. I love the dang thing. I need to fix it. I broke it, but for 30 bucks and 45 mins of work it is great. I can get 4 bikes in the back of the truck standing straight up.
I am going to make a new one this weekend with room for 5.
First thing that caught me eye when I saw your pictures. I was looking at them on the web last weekend. I think I'm going to make one for 4 bikes this weekend.

Rhino hose, fittings, and hose support go into a plastic bin and into the storage compartment. They will fit into a surprisingly small bin.
