Stove top covers for additional counter space

Any thoughts or experiences on the following 3 covers. They are all in the $45 - $55 range and the color my wife and I are interested in is black.

Our stove is the Wedgewood Vison 3 burner.

1. Atwood Bi-fold cover
2. Decor-mate stove topper
3. Camco Universal Fit Stove top

I'm leaning toward the Atwood.

Our Jayco is very limited on counter space and we rarely, if ever, use the burners.

I am the OP and I purchased the Atwood bi-fold from Amazon earlier this week. We received it yesterday and it is much sturdier than I imagined...not cutting board sturdy, but it is exactly what we were in need of which was to create more space.

I had a little bit of buyers remorse during the week after I saw all the cutting board pics and ideas..moral of the story is there is "no right or wrong" and/ or "do what works for you and your family".

It really brought a huge smile to my wife when I showed it to her this morning... Guys hint! hint!

Thank you ladies and gentlemen!

Our stove came with a bi-fold cover. I love it for the simple fact if I don't have time to clean up the stove or the burners, I can close it up and get to it later and it looks nice. I do use it occasionally to set lightweight items on it. Plus it sort of works like backsplash when it is folded up.

I see your cutting board on photobucket and I believe the Atwood bi-fold just under it.

Yup, DW wanted something more sturdy than the metal cover. Actually we don't use the one I made as a cutting board directly but do put a plastic cutting board on it when needed.

Here's a stove cover I made. It is a torsion box design (made like a hollow door) so it is light weight, but very flat and resistant to warping. I covered it with a piece of formica laminate. Rubber "feet" on the bottom fit into the stovetop grate so it does not slip even in travel. When the stove is in use the cover stands on end against the side wall and is held in place by the vent hood.

ADK do you have more pictures of this, your post is very intriging.

That's the only pix I have, and my camera is unavailable to me or I would take another for you. I'll give a little more general info for anyone thinking of making a similar cover: A torsion box has an internal grid (this can be made from thin plywood or ripped from solid stock) set into a frame. I can't remember the size of the grid I used, but I would guess 6" X 6" or 4" X 4". The internal grid doesn't show so precision is not real important. The top and bottom skin is just 3/32 luan plywood. The top skin has laminate stuck to it. Gooogle "Torsion Box" and all kinds of info, You-Tube videos and pix will pop-up.

I have the decor mate, and so does my mother. Our camping friend has the atwood folding one, and to me it feels flimsy, and kind of junky. The decor mate blends in much better, is extremely sturdy (I could stand on it and I'm 220lbs), and can be used as a serving tray even. It also can function also a cutting board if you don't mind scratches on it. It has a rubber backing, combined with the heaviness of the cover itself, it does not slide around one bit.

I never ever use my inside stove, so I wanted a good solid cover, the decor mate works perfect for me.

I'm sure others have their preferences, but I'd never by anything else.

I took some hardwood scraps in the shop and glued them up into a large cutting board that fits over the 3 burner stove top. We mostly cook outside, so it expands the counter space. It sits on the dinette seat if I need the range. It has lips on it, so it lives on the range most of the time and won't slide off.

We use a large plastic cutting board,$10-$15 at Walmart .
It stands on edge behind the sink on the rare occasions we use the stove.
