Tahoe tailgate interference with power jack?

I am thinking of purchasing a new Tahoe to pull my Jayco 24FBS. I was wondering if there is enough clearance when hooked up, to open the rear door without hitting the power jack. Does anyone have this configuration?

I can open my full liftgate or pop just the glass with my combo. There are too many trailer tongue/jack/and receivers to confirm that you will be able to. However, a dealer should be able to drop the tongue on a ball for you to test.

My truck tailgate would hit my power tongue jack also, I went and got a longer receiver shank and it solved the problem. My old shank was 8" and I got a 12" shank now

Easy to solve, http://jack-e-up.com/

Just remove it when hitched up. Thinking of getting one for each of my trailers.

Another nice feature of the ProPride 3P hitch--it gives you a bit more room behind the tow vehicle between the trailer tongue and the rear of the tow vehicle. We weren't able to clear our power tongue jack with our tail gate until we upgraded to the ProPride.

The Atwood jack has the powerhead on top giving better tailgate clearance. Many other brands you can simply rotate the way the jack mounts to get the head out of the way.

On mine and a friends, we were able to get the clearance we needed by rotating the power jack one hole. Doing that on mine only two holes lined up so I had to drill a new one for the third bolt. Saved $100 for a longer bar and kept the turning radius the same.
Thanks,
Bill

I have had 2 Tahoe's. My old trailer didn't affect my tailgate opening/closing. My new trailer does not allow me to open my tailgate on the truck. The '02 Tahoe had a much lower hitch point than my '10 Tahoe and I believe that is causing the issue, more so than the tongue jack position. Unfortunately the new Tahoe never got to tow the old trailer, so I couldn't compare. Though if it is just the tongue jack, I've heard some people turn the head to the side and it allows it to clear. Best way to test it is to hook it up and try it out.

The power liftgate on my Armada clears the jack and the generator I have on a Stromberg-Carlson rack. Not by much but it does clear. Different trailer though.

I have a Trailblazer that I used to tow with. The rear lift door cleared the "older" trailer I had at that time. I now tow with a pickup, the tailgate cleared the old trailer also. But, when I got a new trailer, the tailgate wouldn't clear; easy enough fix, got a longer drawbar. They make them in longer lengths.
