Today started the "make it ours" portion of our new to us 1990 S&S 11 SCB. I started by replacing cheap plastic Therford toilet that was in the wetbath with an oval lid porcelain Therford toilet. What a pain that was, not only was it gross under the old unit, but the convertion of the water supply line was a pain to.

Next I tore all the drapes out, along with all the upolstery. Then I vacumed every nook and cranny out, removed all the drawers and vacumed in there too.

The short list of parts so far is;
NEW BATTERY
CO/PROPANE ALARM
REBUILD KITS FOR JACKS
MATERIAL FOR DRAPES
SHOWER CURTAIN
WALL MOUNT BRACKET FOR FLAT SCREEN
NEW RADIO AND SPEAKERS
LOTSA CAULK AND SILICONE

Pics to follow worked till dark.

Thanks guys......we started to put the corner mouldings on and Ruthie has been a sealing fool. The outside wont be done before we leave, but it will be close. Hopefully the weather holds out for a couple more weeks when we get back so we can finish the outside up.

I like the look with the diamond plate and the aluminum locker doors (then again I've got to say I like the diamond plate - I'm a bit committed to it now on my rebuild!).

Excellent work Chuck! It looks really good, and really good on Red! I know only too well the work involved in this from the old Lance I used to have.

Kudos!

Today I finally finished the back off mid-day, and the DW started the sealing. Its coming along and the trim pieces are starting to go on, so I think the next posting after this will be in the middle of Nov. We are leaving on vacation early next week and I wont be able to work on the S&S for a bit.

Finally finished replacing rotted wood!! :B Well almost, I seem to have not bought any 1"x 2" and I have looked at all my wood stashes and I dont have any. Need it for the framing around the basement doors, I will have to get some tomorrow. All thats left is painting the passenger side, finish sealing it, and make the rear lower tin from diamond plate.

Fixed the lower/rear passenger side today, mounted up the rear jack plates and put it up on "red" so I can cut the bottom plywood plate off and replace it tomorrow. I like the look!

OK............did some more work today, the weather is nice and the back is doing pretty good. Awhile back I removed 90% of the tin that was on the back to make sure that there wasnt any more rot that needed to be taken care of. So today I started to paint and reinstall the tin back on the TC. All I have to say is CHEESSIE......VERY CHEESSIE!!! So Here I'm plugging along puttin the tin back on when I notice that the seems are NOT lining up with the sides! :M So I end up havint to removing all the tin that I just installed and here is why. In the name of CHEAP!!!! instead of sliding the tin into the slot the 3/8 of an inch as it was designed, they only slide 1/8 of an inch into the slot to save a grand total of 3 1/2 inches of tin on the TC, that didnt have to be used...........wow BIG savings. CHEESIE...VERY CHEESIE! OK that rant is over, I guess sometime in the future I may have to fix it....or not, we'll see.

So I cut the rotted plywood and framework on the drivers side today and started to replace/rebuild the lower corner...progress so far.

Oh yea........a pic of the back with the painted tins on it. I have to finish the repair on the drivers side before I put the tail light tin back on. The piece of tin that was on the bottom was REALLY torn up and ripped badly ao that is going to be replaced with diamond plate when I'm finished. I take the door on and off when I work on it, its pretty light and I hold it on with 4 screws when its in place.

Today was start on the roof along with working on the back. I chipped off the old caulk around the ladder and other various holes and bolts that have been done over the years. To my joy and surprise EVERY screw and bolt that I removed was nice and shiney with not a hint of rust. I also removed the useless TV antenna that didnt work and it appears that the sat dish will take its place nicely. While doing this the DW was inside with a steamer removing the horrible wall paper that was in the kitchen.....things are moving along, slowly, but moving.
