Today started the "make it ours" portion of our new to us 1990 S&S 11 SCB. I started by replacing cheap plastic Therford toilet that was in the wetbath with an oval lid porcelain Therford toilet. What a pain that was, not only was it gross under the old unit, but the convertion of the water supply line was a pain to.

Next I tore all the drapes out, along with all the upolstery. Then I vacumed every nook and cranny out, removed all the drawers and vacumed in there too.

The short list of parts so far is;
NEW BATTERY
CO/PROPANE ALARM
REBUILD KITS FOR JACKS
MATERIAL FOR DRAPES
SHOWER CURTAIN
WALL MOUNT BRACKET FOR FLAT SCREEN
NEW RADIO AND SPEAKERS
LOTSA CAULK AND SILICONE

Pics to follow worked till dark.

Got the back apart today and its a pretty straight forward repair. I even have all the wood required to do it! The drivers side storage compartment area is the worse. It looks like they carried a cooler in that compartment by the look of the inside. There is a little rot on the bottom of the pass side also, but all in all it looks like a 1 day repair job. In the pics the wood looks wet, cause it is. I've been spraying it down with a 70% bleach solution to kill any rot fungus that is residing on ANY of the wood that will not be replaced.

Started sealing the stuff thats done with Dicor......this stuff is a PITA to work with. Will reserve judgement till tomorrow on wether or not I will continue to use it or not.

Rather than raise the roof, you can install a dome. Our EC has one and it adds another several inches of headroom in the bath/shower. It's high enough that I can stand up on my toes and get a 360 view around outside.

Do you have any photos of that dome?

Nope, so I just took a couple:

I can stand almost everywhere......I hit the AC and the roof in the bath. That was what I was thinking wnjj, but that is on the list for next year along with a fantastic fan install.

Well that's a bummer. You should know this TC from stem to stern by the time you get through with it tho.

Yup...the only thing left would be to take the roof cap off. I have walk around it and its seems pretty solid for this yer anyhow. Maybe next year I'll strip the roof off, just so I know that EVERYTHING has been looked at! 🙂 Of course then I should raise the roof a bit so that I fit in the shower, cause its not 6'1" in there!

Wish mine had a shower, even an outside shower. But hey, just what did I expect to fit in a Tacoma Truck Bed anyhow???? I'm 6'3" and can stand up straight in mine. Well, everywhere but under the A/C. :S

Got the tin painted and installed under the C/O today, along with the pass-thru window sealed and mounted. I didnt do anything with the tin that rolls under the front since it has a wear through hole in it and is torn in some places. In a week or so that will be replaced with 1/16" aluminum diamond plate, along with the lower front section under the pass-thru window. Tomorrow I will drill and glue dowels into the front jack bracket mounting holes cause some of them are stripped from over torquing them. I am also painting the the jack brackets and dually swing outs to match. The wife has started making the new curtains for the inside also.

If you notice the black at the bottom of the front.....thats rubberized undercoating. It sticks to wood, or anything else for that matter, and is paintable. I found it at Checker Auto Parts, on sale for $1.78 a can. Should last forever.

It's getting there, should be ready to camp by the end of the month.
