Trading up 33ft to 36ft trailer

DW and I have started looking for a replacement to our 2006 ~33ft long, 7500lb loaded (GVWR 7700) trailer and appear to have settled on a 36ft 9000lb loaded (GVWR 9500) model. (Keeping names out to the post to protect the innocent)

TV 2004 F250 6.0 4x4 crew cab, short bed, 6.0 diesel. (One may cringe at the 6.0 but we've got over 145,000 miles with no major problems)Last time on scale TV weigh in at 7800lbs.

Hitch is Reese HP dual cam 1200lb spring bars.

All the numbers look like the truck has the capacity to pull it, but just curious as to what other think?

Does going from a 33ft to 36ft make much of difference in handling? I expect longer accelerations and stops due to the weight and maybe not as fast up some hills, but what of passing trucks and wind? I usually keep the speed between 60-65mph on the level or going downhill.

Thanks

You have plenty of truck! I pull a similar weight/length TT with a Ram 2500 6.7 and before that a 2000 F250 7.3. Both had more than enough capability. One thing I did do that was really nice, was to add Stable Loads to the rear suspension and Bilstein shocks on all 4. Made a huge difference and relatively cheap.

I think you'll be just fine. With any tow, take it slow.

I doubt you will notice a whole lot of difference except the few you mention. Around here sites to accommodate 33' are more available than 35+, unless of course you camp in RV parks, but that might not hold true where you are.

I tow with an extended cab 2500 4x4 6.5ft bed also and went from a 29ft to a 34ft. Had to change the spring bars because the tongue weight went up a lot. Not much change in towing at all and once I got the backing while turning down things are good.
Welcome to my home, that door you just broke down was there for your protection not mine.
