Any recommendations on a travel trailer cover, obviously looking for best bang for the buck. In Houston, TX, so rain and sun are primary weather elements. Appreciate your thoughts!

I have a Classic Accessories permapro and love it. The ripstop nylon is great and breathable.

Been considering a PermaPro cover myself, mostly because it's a much smaller & lighter package than an equivalent Tyvek cover so it should be just that much easier to install. It also comes with a limited lifetime warranty which suggests this should be a better than average cover. However, I've noted a few pics which suggest the ripstop nylon is so thin one can see what's under it - would you say that's true? :@

Yes, that is true. If the sun is out and cover is pressed flat against the side, you can see the outline of the decals on the TT. That is the price I guess we pay for having a lighter weight cover. Since I have only had mine 4 months, I can't tell you whether the sun will do damage. The roof of my Classic Accessories "Sunshield" cover is tyvec which is water resistant an totally opaque so the sun rays should not get through to the roof at least!

I have a Classic Accessories permapro and love it. The ripstop nylon is great and breathable. The install was easy too. We'll worth the cost. As stated be sure to pad corners and gutters to prevent ripping.

For you guys living in the south, any problems with collecting moisture under the cover? Iโ€™m in south MS and am concerned about moisture being trapped under the cover due to the humidity.

No problem with moisture. The ADCO and Classic Accessories brand covers which are the big 2 brands are breathable fabric on the sides with waterproof tyvec roof. as well as having multiple vents along each side to get rid of moisture. Tyvek isn't waterproof but water resistant and although some moisture can collect on the roof membrane it does evaporate through the many holes in the Tyvek material. I've owned a number of ADCO AquaShed and Tyvek covers and this has never been an issue. Classic also offers a much lighter weight ripstop nylon cover that carries a limited lifetime warranty.

Got lazy and cheap and decided not to cover it again for about the next 18 months, and in that time I could start to see the effects of sun damage, especially on the caulking. I went with a brand called Classic Accessories that I found on Amazon and I went with the cheaper Poly Pro 3 version to save a few bucks. I figure it I can anything over about 3 years out of one, I'm ahead of the game.

Just pad the corners and anything that could rip the cover.

I have this same style cover and this will be the third year for it and still looking good. Especially like the top air vents to help reduce bellowing.

I went through 2 ADCO covers on my TT in 4 years.. They distintigrated in the sun and wind. Did not like their warranty. They replaced the first "moderate weather" cover when it ripped apart in 1 1/2 years with a 2 year warranty.. HOWEVER, their stipulation was I had to pay $100 plus freight and upgrade to their "all weather" cover with tyvek roof. It had a 3 yr warranty but they told me it would have NO warranty since it was a replacement. ( even though it cost me $100 plus $30 freight). That cover lasted 2 winters and fell apart again! So I am done with ADCO and went to a Classic Accessories ripstop nylon cover called "Sunshield" with a tyvek roof. They are more expensive ( this one was $450) but they have a 4 year unconditional replacement warranty. I has been on just 4 months, looks great. We shall see how it does!
NO QUESTION you should cover your expensive investment if you expect it to stay looking nice and not have expensive decals fade out !

I`ve had mine covered for 10 years. I had 2 Addco covers in that time. Always covered in the winter. You will need to pad the corners and anything that protrudes so you donโ€™t have the cover tear at those points. I like them for outdoor storage. Takes about an hour to pad everything and get the cover on. Well worth the small investment.

If I decided on no full trailer cover, which I've been leaning towards, would you recommend having A/C covers?

The problem with A/C covers is any I've seen are vinyl and trap moisture. I made the mistake of using one once and in the spring found mold over over the inside of the cover and the A/C shroud. Any trailer I've ever owned over 20 yrs has either been stored indoors over the winter or has been wearing a winter cover. It's not so much about protecting the trailer itself but all the caulked seams and the awning which take a beating from the constant freeze / melt / freeze cycle we see here during the winter. Your choice. ๐Ÿ˜‰

My only experience is with an ADCO cover and it got me through five seasons of storage before it began coming apart.

SoundGuy and the bear II, appreciate your feedback! If I decided on no full trailer cover, which I've been leaning towards, would you recommend having A/C covers? Thanks!
