trouble with on board onan

hey ya'll, my onan 2500 in my 2012 Arctic Fox will NOT start.
It's got about 200 hours on it, so I thought maybe I'd change the spark plug, but I can't get to it. I think I'm going to have to actually remove the generator through the bottom of the coach!
Has anyone dealt with this before? Any tips/tricks would be appreciated.

how long has it been since it HAS ran? if its been setting for a long time without running, its possible the needle valve/float is gummed shut and not letting fuel in..

There is a little retention spring on the arm that keeps the throttle from shutting off. Had the same issue happen on mine and the Onan tech just moved the spring from the back hole to the front hole. Yes I know pictures, ill have to go digging

yep. Is it an LP 2500 micro? I had one in my Bigfoot and ended up selling it. I had issues with it from day 1. I had an Onan tech come out for $300 an hour to service it and while he eventually got it running, it never stayed running and he even said he had no idea what was causing the issue. Mine would only run when holding down the starter which is really bad for it. As soon as I'd let go, it would shut off. Apparently there were tons of issues with this model. I sold mine for $800 and was happy to get rid of it. It was the only appliance in my Bigfoot that didn't work. I upgraded to solar and hope to get a portable Honda genny one day but happy to have that awful Onan gone.

If you insist on keeping it, just do a quick google search for the genny model. You'll find a ton of people posting all sorts of different issues and potential fixes. None of them worked for me and everyone seems to be in agreement that these things are garbage.

Also check the oil it should have a low oil switch that won't let it start if the oil drops to a low level

There should be spark plug access from the bottom when using an extension and universal joint. You can test for spark without removing the current plug.

Doubt it is the spark plugs. Check the regulator vent hose. https://www.rv.net/forum/index.cfm/fuseaction/thread/tid/21265538/print/true.cfm
