Truck Camper Cover

Hi Everyone,

New to the truck camper world. I live in the pacific northwest and my camper will be living outside for the winter. I'm looking at buying a camper cover but am at odds with which to purchase. I have researched both the Adco Aquashed and the Poly Pro 3. Price point is relatively comparable. Does anybody have some input they could provide as to which would be better for the rain forest I live in, or any other brand that maybe suitable. I realize that a poly tarp is not a good option but what about a cover then a poly tarp that would just cover the top with a slight over hang/

Thank you all,

Jim

If I get a quote for $800 then I will likely be doing the same thing. At least the roof will be shielded.

We decided to go without a cover and so far so good. This was in part because we use the camper regularly during the winter for weekend camping and I didn't like the idea of having to take it off and then put it on again regularly (in the dark and in the drizzle of the PNW). We also have an advantage in that sun shine and the resulting UV damage is pretty low during winter up here.

languiduck, I just had a sunbrella mooring cover sewn for my boat, which is a lot less material than a camper cover and it cost me $800. Let us know what you find out when you get the quote back.

I don't know but I'm hoping for some experienced answers here. I'm looking for one. I have no shade where I live and where my camper is stored. This means the sun will beat down on the roof forever and I'm concerned about UV damage to the roof (and caulking), and subsequent leaks.

I have owned a couple popups and a TT and have not had good luck with the Adco cover before and I most likely will never buy another. Or anything like it. I am looking at Calmark and have submitted a price quote request. They use Sunbrella material and that should last...I hope. I have no idea what to expect on the quote though.

Just be prepared to be replacing them between the 2nd and 3rd year. Camper covers are expensive and don't really do that great of a job, IMO. I'm on my 3rd Adco cover. I just keep putting the new ones on top of the old ones so that my camper is wearing multiple layers of clothes for the Winter. LOL!
