Just back from Wash State Border {Blaine } to Sac Cal and the ratio
TT over 5th w was about 8 to 1. Wondering why? Several months ago went from Sac Ca to Lake Tahoe and many more TT than 5th w

I've never given a 5'er much consideration because I like to have my truck bed available for all the junk.

Cheaper and towable by more vehicles plan and simple.

Price without question. Have had both and I liked our fifth wheel better for many reasons as living accommodations . Have a TT now and though smaller it's less mechanically complex, easier to maintain, lighter and easier to tow (my opinion) than our fifth wheel. The TT just better suits our use and purpose at this point in life.

For now a TT suits me better. I have one truck that I use for work as well as towing. So a hitch that takes up most of the bed is not practical.

X2. I don't have a TT because I can't "afford" a 5th wheel, but rather because I prefer a TT for my circumstances.
Our Rig:
2005 Dodge 3500 - Dually- Cummins
2006 Outback 27 RSDS

We also have with us two rescue dogs. A Chihuahua mix & a Catahoula mix.

TT's are generally less expensive.
Many TT's can be towed with the family SUV.

Guesses.
Less expensive on average.
Smaller on average.
Can be towed with cars, SUVs, and smaller trucks.
Less intimidating to new RVers.

Although my unscientific counting has not shown nearly that discrepancy.
