I currently run Michelin tires but have an issue getting a replacement from Discount Tire here in Phoenix. What would be a equal or better replacement tire? I only get approx 48-40K on these 70k tires. 2012 Dodge3500 DRW

Mine are labeled MS2's not Defenders. I know they are supposed to be the same.

Still disappointing on the mileage.

Briddgestone Dueler H/T 685 looks very similar to the Michelins.

I am going to stop at a FS/BS store today and pick their brains a bit on them. 50K mileage warranty seems good.

HEAVY-DUTY STEEL BELTS AND 2-PLY POLYESTER CONSTRUCTION
Engineered for towing and carrying heavy loads
WIDE GROOVES
Push water away from the tire, which helps reduce the risk of hydroplaning
SPECIALLY ENGINEERED TREAD DESIGN
Helps retain traction in snowy conditions to help you power through winter
NEW AND INNOVATIVE TREAD-TO-ROAD CONTACT FOOTPRINT
Allows the tire to adapt to the load and promote even wear

With a 50k mile rating they must be a cheaper tire.

Ha ha! You are funny once in awhile.

^Thats why I said Most and not All. Yes BFG Rugged Terrians wear like iron. They're hard as a rock tread compound will go forever until it snows! For strictly warm weather pavement pounding they're hard to beat.

Not always the case. Michelin 120K and BFG 100K used on my 98, 3rd gen takeoffs.

He did not know anything about the Dueler HT 685, but stated that with a 50K mileage warranty BS must have confidence in the tire.

You must have been talking to the BS side! But if that's the case then one would be best served by NOT ever buying most tires that come as OE. They don't last.

Overall I'm pleased with the Michlien's on the Ram, except when offloading in snow or mud. But, I guess that's what chains are made for! ;). memtb

I too had MS2 on my dually. Struggled to get 46,000 miles out of them with the 70,000 tread warranty. Michelin along with the new tire to replace the MS2 also has reduced the tread warranty to 50,000. You think they knew they had problem? I ended up replacing the MS2 with Yokahamas at Discount Tire in Kalispell, MT. They allowed $40.00 tread warranty on each Michelin. Other paces I checked would not apply the tread warranty on anything but another set of Michelins. No thanks! Wasn't gonna happen.

^ Then buy a different brand/tread of tire. And why would you run without a spare intentionally? Used tires are a dime a dozen if you're waiting to make one of your old tires a spare.
Craigslist will probably net you a new set of takeoff tires real cheap. Amazon will ship them to your door for less than a tire shop charges, some deals to be had there too.

About 100 different options and sources for tires....today or tomorrow.

Do you change rear tire pressure when towing/not towing??

Which tire---tires are wearing fast?

You don't seem to get very good mileage on ANY tires---different year vehicles :H

70psi front 65 psi rears when not towing. 80psi in rears when towing. Rotation is done at 3-4K when oil is changed.
A friend of mine with the exact truck as mine just replaced his at 38K because they were to worn for comfort when towing. All tires wearing equally. Kinda thinking quality is dropping. Of course P235/80/17 michelin says these tires are on back order and now I'm running without a spare. No information on when they will become available
