Hi,

Being new to the TT world... does any TV wall mount work for installing my small flat screen (19 In.) on the wall.

Thank you,
Martin

just dealt with this yesterday. New Kodiak has a square sticker indicating where the backing is or the screws to mount your tv mount. I bought a swivel model by rockfish that has a tall and narrow mounting surface.....i found that i put the top of two screws into the are shown at the top of the decal, then although the lower screw was below the decal, it took a good bite into the backer as well.....then i simply used a sharp knife to trim off the execs decal that still showed to the sides of the mount. It holds my 19" LED tv/dvd nicely.

I have spoken to Dutchmen several times the past few weeks to try and get a solid answer on the thickness of the outside wall. I have been told by the parts/warranty guys that the sticker isn't the actual size of the mount point. They have indicated that it is either a 10"x10" or 12"x12" block in the wall depending upon the application. Seeing as I have the smallest Aerolite that Dutchmen makes, he guessed mine is the 10"x10" block. They also advised that I not use screws longer than 1" since the wall with fiberglass laminate isn't likely more than 1 1/4 inch. What length screws did you end up using and what is the thickness of your bracket's mount point?

If it's a bedroom TV and high on the wall make sure to get one that also tilts rather than just a staitionary mount as you won't see much other than a black screen otherwise.

I mounted a 19 inch flat screen in our TT bedroom, I cut a piece of good quality plywood a couple inches wider than the mount and wide enough to hit 2 studs and used decent sized screws to set it, I also pre painted the plywood. It was an adjustable mount so we always took the TV down for travel and put it face down at the head of the bed, only took a couple minutes to do. There were cable and power outlets already in place.

As far as i can remember (the TT is still at the store) there was a sticker on one of the wall. But wondering if the base of the mount that goes to the wall has to be square or can it be rectangle.

Thank you,
Martin

We are also considering putting a flat screen in our TT. Will be watching for do's and don'ts so we don't mess up anything.

It will depend somewhat on the wall itself. It SHOULD have some support inside the wall or outside if the inside is not accessible.

I have exactly that, a regular flat wall mount for my 19" TV. It works fine and have had no issues.
