Put 50 miles on today. I punch the gas and it definately goes better. Filled the tank and going to get my first mileage calculation soon. 10.5 mpg is the number to beat. Sure is nice having my horse back...

AAA or Good Sam also offers towing memberships so if you break down your oversized vehicle is covered. I can ask my people to send a big flatbed to handle both truck and camper (over 10,000lbs). No need to call a friend to rescue your TC.


I have the factory dash which has a gauge and idiot light. I'm thinking about a gauge set that goes in the drivers roof column. Good visability there. The factory gauge did work.

Wow, that was an exciting video to watch.

Do you not have gauges to watch? I have after market gauges and can set alarms if the parameters are breached. Oil pressure, water temp, trans temp, boost and battery voltage are all set to sound alarms.

The tow for the truck was easy. The camper not so easy like an unknown amount of time to find a way to haul. My brother was thankfully willing and able to come with his truck, late night by then.
The oil pump, either catastrophic failure in the pump or the sump tube cracked and admitted air causing a loss of oil suction. The oil filter was full of air when I removed it which reinforces the cracked tube theory. Also that the engine seized within a few seconds makes you think air was pumped through the passages blowing out the lubrication the bearings had.
The new engine works great, noticeably more power. Looking forward to those first gas mileage numbers.
